Celebrate your marriage on the waterfront at the historic, Mediterranean style Powel Crosley Estate. Conveniently located between Bradenton and Sarasota. Therefore making it easy for your out of town guests. As there is an airport and hotel accommodations close by. This historic 1920s-era estate will make a graceful and romantic backdrop for your wedding! The unique and vintage architecture of this venue creates idyllic wedding memories. And therefore has several spots for the perfect photographs of your special day as well. The outdoor surroundings offer the natural beauty of the locale. Which therefore includes an expansive view of Sarasota Bay and surrounding greenery.
Facilities and Capacity
You and your guests can enjoy multiple spaces across the Crosley Estate. First-floor rooms included with every rental of this property include the Great Room. The Library, Dining Room, Breakfast Nook, and Bride’s Room. The second-floor spaces included in every rental are the Balcony, Ship Room and Groom’s Room. There are three additional rooms on the second floor – Powel’s Room, Gwendolyn’s Room, and the Bayside Room – which are available for an additional fee. The Crosley Estate also offers outdoor spaces.
Including the Terrace, Bayside Pavilion, and Bayside Lawn. The numerous choices ensure you will find the perfect fit for a ceremony or reception at this unique venue. This venue can host up to 600 guests.
History
The Crosley Estate was built in 1929 by Powel Crosley, a well-known inventor. He is known for his role in the first compact economy car, 500,000-watt radio station, night baseball, airplanes, and numerous other inventions. The venue operated as a winter home for the Crosley family. The property is known by name as Sea Gate and therefore described by the venue as a representative of “Florida’s Mediterranean Revival Architecture.”
