Taheem a.k.a. T-Willy was born and raised in Broward county FL. His father, being a keyboardist, introduced Taheem to musicianship and live audio at a very young age. “I was playing drums by the age of 5, keyboard by the age of 7, and composing songs by the age of 9. But I always took interest in DJs, mainly on the radio.”
It wasn’t until his senior year at Everglades High School in Miramar, FL, that Taheem decided to develop his DJ skills. He started out making mix CDs for friends and family who, knowing his musical aptitude, encouraged him to explore it further. “At that time it was just a hobby, when I got to college I realized I could earn a living with it.”

DJ T-Willy – DJ in Fort Lauderdale
So after his freshman year at Florida A&M University, he began booking gigs and throwing parties with his cousin. Together they formed The Wicked DJs and quickly made a name for themselves. Then, during his junior year at FAMU, T-Willy got on the campus radio station, fulfilling his dream of becoming a radio DJ.
After graduating with a Bachelors in broadcast journalism, T-Willy began working as a DJ with Carnival Cruise Line. “That’s where I learned how to play all genres for any crowd. The diversity on those ships made me the open-format DJ I always wanted to be.”
Why DJ weddings?
DJ T-Willy now enjoys performing mainly at weddings. “Weddings are the first day of the rest of a couple’s life together. Being a part of that makes me love what I do more and more every time I do one.”
