I discovered my passion for working with a camera at a young age. For my 12th birthday, I asked for a digital camera and took it with me everywhere, capturing anything I could. As I got older, I became fascinated with movies and found myself constantly trying to figure out how certain scenes were filmed—I was drawn to the production side of storytelling. Being part of so many days that mark the most important moments in people’s lives is incredibly meaningful to me. I feel truly fortunate to do what I do—to capture love, emotion, and memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Fun Fact: Being a natural redhead and ambidextrous puts me in a pretty rare category—roughly 1 in 100,000 people share both traits. So you could say I’m one of a kind.

I became a videographer because I’ve always been drawn to storytelling. I love capturing the beauty in everyday life, emotions, movement, and details in ways words sometimes can’t. There is something powerful in turning a moment into a lasting visual memory. I believe some of the best footage comes from organic and real emotions. The “in between” moments. I tend to keep my camera rolling as much as possible throughout the day so I can capture this!

Nick Cheesman, Central Illinois Wedding Videographer
Consuming media at a young age, watching movies, TV, and listening to music, and watching music videos inspired me. As a child, my parents gave me a camcorder, and I would spend countless hours shooting random things and watching them over and over. When it was time to go to college, I knew the media was for me, and my love for being behind the camera grew even more in my exploration. Each wedding I shoot is a journey through the screen, crafted to captivate without the need for physical travel.
What is your favorite memory you’ve shot?
Doing a sparkler exit at a wedding downtown peoria at Venue Chisca. Seeing and feeling the energy from the crowd as they gathered to cheer and hold sparklers into a tunnel formation and then seeing the bride and grooms excitement as they ran through leaving the reception.
