JD and Sydney’s wedding at Centennial Farm on the Ridge was one of those days that just felt right from start to finish. The setting, tucked in the heart of Central Illinois was perfectly balanced rustic charm with modern touches. It’s the kind of place that feels warm and cozy, but still open, and full of personality. Every detail of their day fit the space so effortlessly, and it was such a joy to capture their love surrounded by wide-open skies and that unmistakable Illinois charm.
The morning started on-site, where Sydney and JD got ready surrounded by their favorite people. As a very “Type A” team, we loved photographing all the details that Sydney put together; from the invites and jewelry to her stunning wedding dress! And don’t even get us started on how perfect the natural lighting streaming in through the windows was. Having everything in one place made the day flow so smoothly and gave us time to slow down and document those quiet, emotional moments before the ceremony.
Their ceremony took place outdoors, framed by lush greenery and classic Central Illinois views that stretched for miles. It was simple, timeless, and just beautiful with the golden fields in the distance adding that perfect touch of pure Illinois countryside romance. The bridesmaid’s sage green dresses popped against the golden corn fields and as Sydney walked down the aisle toward JD, the sun peeked out just enough to make everything glow. It couldn’t have been more perfect.
When it was time to celebrate, everyone moved into the venue’s brand new reception space that was added to the property in 2024 and wow, it did not disappoint. The interior is stunning, with warm stained wood ceilings, exposed trusses, and soft light from the chandeliers giving it that cozy-yet-elevated feel. The white walls and polished concrete floors created a clean, modern backdrop for the couple’s decor, while the black accents and sliding barn doors tied everything together. One of our favorite features is the glass garage-style door that opens toward the ceremony site. It is such a fun touch and makes for a dramatic entrance moment for the bride.
Between the sprawling fields, the tree-lined drive, and honestly just the outside of the beautiful reception space they built, Centennial Farm on the Ridge offers endless photo opportunities. We ventured all around the property, hit up all the best photo op spots and captured everything from laughter and fun with their wedding party to the PERFECT golden hour photos of just the two of them. It’s the kind of space that makes every photo feel like a scene from a movie or Pinterest board. And for this couple, it was the perfect setting to begin their next chapter.
