Grace + Kristian’s Unique Vintage Wedding

9.30.21

When you look at Grace + Kristian’s wedding album, you can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia. You get teleported to a time way before now. Where the bride would wear long lace gloves that pair with a full veil. Giving a sense of regalness. Kristian perfectly compliments Grace with his laid-back prince charming aura. Would you believe us if we told you that their vintage wedding was just three months ago?

The Bride

Grace wore a vintage wedding dress passed down through generations. It had a structured bodice that extended into the skirt. She opted for an off-the-shoulder cut that highlighted her neckline. Grace decided to pair that with some lace sleeves that went under the cuff of the shoulder. White sequins sprinkled through the gloves giving onto the magical feeling of the night. All coming together to form a classic bride.

Hair + Makeup

To keep on-brand with the classic aesthetic, Grace went for a red lip for her make-up and winged eyeliner. For hair, Grace had her pixie cut slicked back so that she could place her crown on top of it. This crown was embedded with pearls and jewels, that played off her fluffed veil. This veil also had pearls sprinkled throughout the material.  This combination of hair, makeup, and accessories made the bride look like she was coming straight out of a 20th-century photo album in all the best ways.

The Ceremonies

The stunning bride walked down the aisle of the Bavarian Bierhaus, meeting her prince charming. They exchanged their vows under the altar with tulle and greenery intertwined through the frame of it. The greenery, neutrals, and champagne theme of the vintage wedding was a way to keep everything timeless. Once Grace + Kristian sealed their marriage with a kiss, they were finally ready to celebrate! But not without first going through the Log Cutting Ceremony.

Log Cutting

The Log Cutting Ceremony in German tradition is supposed to represent the couple’s first obstacle together. By sawing through it, Grace + Kristian are showing that they can get through any hard problem that life throws at them. Traditionally, it’s just supposed to be the bride and groom cutting the log. In this instance, the family gathered around and helped move the process along. Which was symbolic in its own way. It reminded them that although they do have each other, they can always look to their family members for support in any problem that life throws at them.

The couple was finally ready to celebrate the new chapter of their lives. They continued the rest of their night with some cake cutting, dancing, and of course toasts ending in clinks of beer glasses. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs.!
