Lori Black has been working in the wedding photography field for about 15 years. She started at an older age than most photographers after working in the field of journalism for many years. Her goals when shooting a wedding is to do her best to capture the love story of the bride and groom from the beginning of the day till the end. She is very easy-going and accommodating, and she lets that shine through when she’s at a wedding. She loves to provide some guidance during those times when it is needed and sit back and document when that is more appropriate.
I had some photography experience in college and as an adult in the 8-5 working world, I found myself a little bored. I decided to pursue a photography business. I started by offering free photo sessions to friends, then worked my way into becoming a real paid professional.
I love photographing weddings in beautiful places. There is a particular place in Lincoln where I have photographed weddings that has so many picturesque scenes that it makes my job so much easier because the place is so beautiful.
I really like getting to know the bride and groom and meeting the families. It gives me a feeling like I’m an important part of such a monumental occasion.
I try to provide more than one photo of a particular pose or group setting. I feel this lets the bride and groom make their own choices of which of several photos they prefer.
My favorite part of the wedding day is getting away with the bride and groom to a pretty place and shooting their portraits. It’s my chance to be creative and develop photos that they may decide to hang on the wall.
I am a huge animal lover and have two dogs and two cats. Together with my husband, we walk our dogs five to six times a day.
