Hello! I’m Kellie Mitchell-Karmann, a Lincoln, Nebraska-based photographer specializing in wedding, maternity and newborn photography. I discovered my passion for photography through 4-H at a young age. In 2002, I moved to Lincoln to attend the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where I studied psychology and lived a lifelong dream as a proud member of the Cornhusker Marching Band. Go Big Red!

Specializing in timeless wedding and newborn photography with natural light, capturing everything from a bride’s heirloom bracelet passed down from her grandmother to the teary-eyed couple during the first dance towards the end of a night, I find joy in capturing the details that tell your story. I fell in love with photography at a young age in 4-H as a teen. Learning how to work cameras with film helped me develop my craft and transition to the digital world as it became more available as I grew up. I was always the friend with her camera growing up and after I had my daughter in 2011, I took the leap from a hobbyist to professional.
As someone who has photographed over 150 weddings through my career I have many memories. My favorite memory is from a wedding about 7 years ago; the bride was saddened that her aunt was unable to be there as she lived a few states away. We set up a surprise reveal and it was the happiest and most adorable moment ever to see the bride’s reaction when she walked outside and saw her aunt walking up the driveway. It was a special moment I was so honored to be there to capture.
My posing style is a mix of posed and candid. I do my best to place couples in a position and give prompts to create a moment so you are not just looking at a photo of you two together, you are also taken back to that moment of how you two felt looking into each other’s eyes with beaming smiles.
