Learn More About Roberto Rojas

What is your favorite part about being a photographer?

There are so many aspects of being a photographer that I love, but if I chose one it would be capturing the moments that make life whimsical. Documenting the people and places that make life feel a bit more magical.

What's your favorite memory from an event you shot at?

One of my favorite moments was working the 2026 Diwali celebration at GVSU. Diwali is the festival of lights and it is such an electric event to be at. Sparklers, fireworks, dance numbers from many different backgrounds. It was a truly incredible event that I was honored to capture.

What sets you apart from other photographers?

I love to get the shot. I do anything to get the shots that capture the energy and vibe of whatever event I am at. I’m constantly experimenting with different techniques like shutter dragging and double exposures to portray moments and emotions felt during the day.

What is a fun fact about you that most people don't know?

I love creating in whatever form I am able to. These past two summers I spent on Mackinac Island where I dabbled in woodworking, instrument refurbishing, music, sketching, and of course photography and videography. By far the best growth I’ve had as an artist happened on Mackinac.
