Lindsay Meeker - Grand Rapids Wedding Photographer

Lindsay Meeker – Grand Rapids Wedding Photographer

Lindsay is a photographer with a heart for capturing people as they truly are—vibrant, genuine, and full of life. What began as a childhood fascination with preserving everyday moments has grown into a passion for storytelling through images. She believes everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and celebrated, and she approaches each session with curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for the people in front of her lens.

Creativity fuels her work, and she loves the freedom photography gives her to explore, experiment, and try new ideas without fear. Whether a shot turns into magic or simply a fun moment shared, she believes that’s all part of the experience.

What sets Lindsay apart is the connection she builds with her couples. She takes the time to truly understand their personalities, comfort levels, and what makes them feel most themselves. As a plus-size photographer, she brings a unique awareness to how vulnerable being in front of the camera can feel, especially on a wedding day. Her mission is simple: to help couples look and feel incredible, capturing their love in a way that is honest, joyful, and beautifully true to them.

Learn More About Lindsay Meeker

Why did you decide to become a photographer?

I discovered young that I loved capturing the world around me in the effort of preserving memories. While in college, I realized that it wasn’t only capturing memories but representing people in their natural environment. Everyone wants to be seen, heard, loved, and I love getting to know the people that I’m working with and given them glimpses of their lives through my own eyes that show just how full of life they are.

What is your favorite memory from an event you shot at?

My favorite moment was probably the moment I captured the photo that is now the 2024 Photo of the Year. I remember that wedding very clearly, the connect I made with the couple was strong and effortless. I remember capturing that photo, seeing the joy and love, and then their reaction to that photo and knowing that it was going to be important.

What makes your work unique / stand out?

I feel what makes my work stand out is that I strive to get to know my couples, and not just surface level but also on a comfortability level too. Photography can be a very challenging and personally thing, especially in your wedding day, and as a plus size photographer I know just how uncomfortable it can be if someone doesn’t take into account how you are feeling in front of the camera. It is my goal to make you look and especially feel good on your big day, in a way that is true to you and your partner.

What is your favorite thing about being a photographer?

There are honestly few things that I don’t like about being a photographer. I love the creative freedom that comes with the medium and the amount that it allows me to explore as well as the forgiveness. If there’s something we want to try, let’s absolutely go for it! It may not work out but no harm no foul, that’s what it’s about.

List one fun fact most people do not know about you
