Here’s what Greg had to say:
“My DJ personality really depends upon the event that I’m DJing. So it’s kind of like being a cook (which I was a cook in the Navy), you know, it depends on who you’re cooking for. Do they like spicy food or do they like something sweet? It really depends on the audience. It really depends on the couple. In most cases, it’s outgoing. They want someone who is outgoing and to engage with the crowd. As a wedding DJ, it’s my responsibility to make sure that the party goes the way that the couple told me they wanted to go and to make sure that the night matches their wedding vision in a way that will create memories for them that they want to have for the rest of their lives.
One of the things that I feel makes me stand out as a DJ is my voice. When I make an announcement, I’m not picking up the microphone and just giving information because anybody can do that. I’m telling a story. As a matter of fact, I’m telling the story of the day as it’s happening. For example, the way that I would introduce a couple in for the grand entrance is totally different then maybe announcing a slow song.
My favorite part of the night hands-down is when the dance floor is open and it’s packed and people are having a great time!
At my first wedding, I loved DJing so much that I actually called my boss during the reception and said I had no idea how rewarding this could be. It really struck me that much that I called him from the event to let him know how much fun it was.
A fun fact about me is when I was in seventh grade, it was Christmas vacation at the time. It was two weeks and I was supposed to be working on my science fair project but the majority of those two weeks instead, I taught myself how to juggle.”

When it comes to getting to party with Louisiana’s newest couples and to celebrate any and every occasion with music, John thinks DJ’ing is a no-brainer. John has been DJ’ing with Complete since 2006! (Yes, that was right out of high school for him!) John grew up with a passion for music and also enjoys playing guitar, writing music, leading worship at his church, and dabbling on the many other instruments he enjoys playing. John focuses on professionalism when he DJ’s.
Here’s what John has to say about himself:
“I would describe my DJ personality as very confident, but really a big part of my personality comes out when I meet with the bride to decide what she’s looking for in a DJ. I very much enjoy getting on the mic, interacting with the crowd, asking questions, and getting people on the dance floor. I love getting to be a DJ because it’s essentially like getting paid to party. You get to go out to an event that’s a lot of fun.
My favorite part of a wedding is at the end of the night. It’s really great to see the satisfaction on the guests’ faces and get to talk to the bride and groom about how much fun they had at the reception. It just really brings me a lot of joy, and that joy and that experience is one of the reasons I continue to DJ, and it is definitely my favorite part of the night.
I think what makes me unique as a DJ is that I really bring a strong sense of professionalism to the DJ experience. I work a normal 9-to-5. I am married. I have kids. I’ve done quite a few weddings and I really know what the bride expects. So, I bring a professional attitude when it comes to meeting with a bride and being on time for everything. It may seem like a small thing but I think that makes me really stand out among a lot of other DJs in the field.
My way to pack the dance floor is that I like to first put on a slow dance song, a crowd-pleaser to get everybody dancing out there with a special somebody or significant other. Then right after that, I like to put on the Cupid Shuffle. I know it can be a little bit of a cliché song to play these days but I really like it because you can get everybody on the dance floor and I can literally get out there with a microphone, teach everybody the dance in a few seconds and get the entire floor packed. The reason I originally became a DJ was that I liked the idea that it was a fun job that I get to do to make a little extra cash. I could typically DJ on the weekends and still have a 9 to 5 but it’s really become a lot more than that. I’ve been a DJ since 2006. I’ve done hundreds of weddings. Really, just being a part of that special day and seeing people genuinely happy at the end of the night really means a lot.
One fun fact about me is that my wife and I played in a band years ago around Baton Rouge called Lucy and the Gamblers. It was a soul funk band and we played at local venues like Chelsea’s Café. I played guitar and wrote music for the band and it was a lot of fun.”
A Baton Rouge native, Ryan Has been following his passion for music and honing his talents for over 10 years. Since joining COMPLETE in 2012, Ryan has left his mark on clients far and wide. Ryan is a star DJ and essential to any party that wants to PARTY! As a musician and composer Ryan brings a unique flair to your experience.
Here’s what Ryan had to say in his DJ interview:
“I would describe my DJ personality as laid-back, friendly, and fun. I want to keep the focus on the couple being the main attraction for the night and I just focus on creating the perfect playlist for everybody but still making sure that everyone has a good night!
A few years ago I got to DJ my sister‘s wedding a few years back and that was a blast being a groomsman and a DJ. It was very chaotic but a lot of fun to run around about being a DJ.
My favorite thing about being a DJ is when I nail that perfect song for the crowd. I know it sounds really cheesy, but I when I play that one song and the crowd cheers and I just know I’ve nailed it. That’s just my favorite feeling.
I think my ability to read a crowd and adapt to multiple situations is what really makes me stand out as a DJ. Whether it’s last-minute changes or surprises for the couple at the event, I’m able to adapt to those changes very swiftly.
My favorite part of the night is definitely the party time of the night. Once we get past all of the “wedding business” and really get all of the crowd on the dance floor and having a good time.
I think my favorite way to pack the dance floor is to kind of trick the guys out there. I’ll play a slow song to get a couples out and then immediately play a line dance and then at that point they are there, so they just kind of stay for the line dance and then you’ve got them out there.
I just kind of stumbled into being a DJ when I was in college and just kind of needed a weekend job. I was a music major so I didn’t have a lot of time during the week and it just kind of worked out to be on just Saturdays at first and then nine years later it’s grown and I’ve really come to love the job.
A fun fact about me is that I have a Bachelor’s Degree in music composition and can play 15 different instruments; including the saxophone, the piano, the guitar, the upright bass, the trumpet, the trombone, the tuba, the clarinet… haha, that’s all I can think of right now!”

Here’s what Sean had to say in his DJ interview:
“Look no further! I’m the DJ you’ve been waiting for. With over 400 events on the books (including 300+ weddings), I’ve got the experience to deliver. Your wedding day is almost as important to me, as it is to you. Whether your wedding is an elegant affair, a relaxed afternoon, a poppin’ dance party or all of the above… I’m your guy! I leave the cheese at home but bring a smile and genuine desire to make your day as special as it deserves to be.
So I became a DJ back in middle school. I was in the garage band with a few friends and we had a sound system so we just decided to give it a shot playing dances for local churches and schools. I took a little break during college but then I had a friend who actually was with Complete. We would always hang out after his weddings. He was always wearing a suit. He was telling me how much fun it was. Naturally, being attracted to a performative thing that sounds like a good time and I got into it. I had a blast immediately and not only that but I realized I was pretty good at it. So I stuck with it and now it’s what I get to do for a living and I feel pretty lucky.
I would describe my DJ personality as fun, friendly, detail oriented but above all professional. I like to keep everybody on track with what’s about to happen. I want to make sure everything that we planned out happens perfectly and make sure we’re gonna have a great time doing it.
Some of the biggest feedback that I get is my ability to seamlessly work with other vendors. Incorporating my knowledge about all the other services allows me to be able to be that go-between to help everything flow flawlessly.
My favorite song to pack the dance for varies between every crowd. Every family, group of friends is different. They’ve all got different stuff they want to listen to but the biggest thing about those sort of songs is timing. I like to set up a big group photo with everybody right out in the middle of the dance floor. We will take a couple pictures of the couple and get some really awesome pictures of everybody who came there. Then after that second picture… BOOM, throw on the big line dance or whatever song I think will work and we’ve tricked everybody out on the dance floor and now they’re all having a good time.
Most people who know me that have never seen me at my job, think of me as a pretty laid-back, fairly quiet, not a super wild or anything. But the moment you put me in front of a crowd, give me a microphone, I flip that switch and you’ve got DJ Sean in the house and it’s just a whole different thing.”
