What To Do After Getting Engaged

12.7.22

When you’re planning your wedding in Spokane, it always feels great to get things checked off your list. You don’t want any planning items to hover over your head as you try to enjoy your engagement. However, it’s good to know what you can wait on and what needs to be done ASAP so that you can plan accordingly. Are you newly engaged? In this blog, we’ll go over what needs to be done now so you can start checking things off your list!

Where to Start on Wedding Planning

Wedding Venue and Date

There are many things you could do, but the first thing should be to book a venue. Almost everything relies on the availability of a venue – wedding date, other vendors, catering, location, and more. You also want to make sure it’s a venue you’re both happy with so never settle!

Wedding Vendors

Once you have your venue and wedding date, you can move on to vendors. Each wedding is completely unique so you may not want the same products or services as another wedding. Things to think about for your wedding could include a DJ, photographer, videographer, uplighting, a photo booth, catering, transportation services, etc. That may sound like a lot, but don’t worry. Your wedding may not need most of those.

Guest List

One thing that is often forgotten when planning for a wedding is how important a guest list is and when to invite said guests. This should happen as soon as possible. Make sure to send out a save-the-date to every guest to ensure they’ll be there for your big day.

Remember, the guest list always depends on the venue! A smaller venue shouldn’t have a guest list greater than 50 people. Outdoor weddings are great for larger guest lists so keep that in mind.

Relax – Wedding Planning is Fun!

Once all of that is finished, you can relax a bit. It’s almost your wedding day, why be stressed? If you don’t have your dress/tux picked out yet, make a day of it with your friends and family! Don’t forget about the bridesmaids and groomsmen too.

Added: The most important thing to do when planning your wedding is to stay calm. Even if it doesn’t go as planned, remember that it’s about your love for one another. Enjoy your day and let the staff take care of the behind-the-scenes work while you take care of the fun!
