Winter Weddings

10.17.22

It seems that winter weddings are consistently underrated, and we can’t figure out why! At Complete Weddings + Events, we love winter weddings, and so do our clients. If you are planning a winter wedding in Spokane, here are some tips to make your big day unforgettable!

Winter Wonderland Wedding

If you were looking for those ‘Winter Wonderland’ pictures, you will want to plan your wedding between November and March. December is actually the month that Spokane, WA gets the most snow with an average of 4.3 inches. With that being said, be flexible on a wedding date and plan ahead. Planning a winter wedding definitely has its advantages but with holidays right around the corner, it can be a busy time for traveling.

Indoor & Outdoor Photos

Please do not take all of your pictures outside.!  In theory, they will be pretty. I guarantee that you will have a rosy nose & cheeks throughout most if not all of your pictures. Plan with your Spokane wedding photographer to take pictures at a couple of indoor locations. Winter weddings are absolutely elegant, and that will show in the photos your photographer does capture whether it be inside or outside.

Cost of Winter Weddings

If you were planning on getting married in the winter, it is often much cheaper. Unless you are planning on getting married in December, then you’ll be competing with company holiday parties, and other non-wedding events for those desired dates. Often bringing the price of a wedding venue to the average cost during wedding season.

Winter Wedding Guest Considerations

Lastly, think about your guests. Wintertime is so cold here in Spokane, WA. Instead of planning your winter wedding around how you want it to look, plan it how you want it to feel. Making your bridesmaids wear heels will look beautiful, but is it safe?

Another thing to make sure you have is something warm for everyone to drink like coffee, cocoa, or cider. Keeping your guests warm and cared for will keep them celebrating your special day longer. If everyone is cold and wet, the chances of them leaving before the reception ends are much greater.
