It’s completely normal to feel a little awkward in front of the camera, and honestly, most people do. My approach is to keep things moving and keep you talking rather than posing you and counting down to a shot. I’ll give you small, simple things to focus on, like looking at your partner or laughing about something we just talked about, so your attention is on each other instead of the lens. The stiff, camera-aware moment usually only lasts a few seconds; once we’re a little ways into it, people relax and the real, natural expressions start coming through. My goal isn’t to get you to ‘perform’ for the camera, it’s to help you forget it’s there.
