DJ Ricky is a versatile DJ with over 12 years of experience in blending and mixing, for live performances, and recording. . He first got his start in Massachusetts as a college student that DJ’d for birthdays, basement parties, and student organizational events. Stationed in Okinawa, in the Air Force, he led a DJ team for the Enlisted Men, and Officers Club. Years of school choir singing allows for adding his own voice to DJ and Emceeing, and music selection. He is fluent in multiple genres such as hip-hop, R & B, top 40, Latin and country. With his experience in weddings, DJ Ricky understands the power of communicating through performances, and makes sure that an event proceeds, phase-to-phase, with a mix of smooth transitioning, timeliness, and a good sense of humor that breeds a gentle, familial and fun atmosphere for wedding celebrations. He likes to keep people engaged and having fun, so everyone has a memorable experience.

I have been in love with music all my life, I got into entertaining by singing and dancing, and preforming at car shows in California, while serving in the USMC. When I got out, I moved to Florida and created a group that did the south Florida circuit doing Freestyle music, have preformed with Tito Puente Jr., Stevie B, TKA, The Cover Girls, and a host of other freestyle artist. The natural progression was to become a DJ, and continue to follow my love of music. I started DJ by chance, I was in a friends wedding and they wanted me to sing a song, after I sang I was talking with the DJ and he asked if I was interested in DJing, the rest is history. I have done events from the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach to Aruba, and thousands of places in between.
My favorite thing about being a DJ, is seeing the Bride and Groom’s faces as they are enjoying themselves, and watching their friends and family enjoy themselves. I enjoy taking the crowd on a musical journey and helping them forget everything outside of that moment, even if it is only for a little while.
My favorite part of a wedding of course would be the dancing but I am equally as excited for the introductions, even though I have been doing this for over 20 years I still get chills as I do the intro, and truly believe the day that I do an introduction and I don’t get chill will be my time to hang up the Microphone. It is such an important part as you are making the intro of the New Husband and Wife, I feel you should be nervous.
I have done all types of events from 3 day weddings to backyard bbq’s, and have taken something from each of them, I believe that in this industry you must continue to learn and grow, and I take pride in doing just that, and also in being able to do my part to help make your vision of your perfect event a reality.

As a Wedding Venue, we have contracted Complete Weddings & Events to create an all-inclusive package for our couples. The owners, Kathy & Scott put their heart into their work and care about each event. The DJ's we've met have been just perfect! First of all, they are very professional and are focused on the wedding experience vs on themselves (as you may find with some DJ's) . I also appreciate that they stay balanced between MCing the event vs "entertaining". In addition, they are VERY helpful. Our last experience with DJ Rob was so sweet - after he had everything set up with his equipment, he jumped in and helped us continue our set-up. He moved chairs, lite candles, put napkins on tables and more! It is evident that all of the team members care about the wedding experience and make a difference wherever they can. I aim to make any event that I DJ, the most talked about event for a long time to come. My favorite memory as a DJ is doing a family reunion in a hotel ballroom when a group of men from India came in and crashed the party. They danced with the family and everyone enjoyed them. Afterwards, one of the men came to me and told me that he was a groom who was set to get married in the same hotel. On the spot, he hired me as his DJ for his wedding. We had a great time at their reception! I enjoy the fact that, at least for the time period that I am djing, I make people happy, they can forget their worries, and have an amazing time. When I make the guests smile, laugh, and dance, I know that I am doing it well. *We loved our DJ Oj..... we told him what we liked and what we didn't like, because we didn't want a reception like every other reception we went to. We told him only 3 line dances, and family friendly lyrics. We wanted everybody to dance and have a good time. That's just what we got – some great dance music – all night long. Well, almost all night. We kept asking him to stay longer, which he graciously did, and only shut it down when the police came at 2AM and told us the neighbors of the beach wedding venue had finally heard enough. What a great night!!"
