How would you describe your DJ Personality?
My DJ personality can be described by my balance of playfulness and professionalism. Guests can rely on me to get things done AND to have a good time. I have fun being your DJ — I love this stuff!
What is your favorite memory as a DJ?
My favorite memory as a DJ was when the venue lost power due to tornados in the area, and the venue and vendors worked together to find solutions to help the happy couple still have the best night, complete with battery-operated candles placed in a big heart shape to light the dance floor.
What is your favorite thing about being a DJ?
My favorite thing about being a DJ is helping the entire group to have a great night and make memories, while I am also having so much fun playing music and connecting with the crowd.
What makes you unique/stand out as a DJ?
What makes me unique as a DJ, is my priority of creating an environment for joy. That starts from being reliable, communicative, and organized from the get-go. This helps guests to relax and so they can focus on having a good time. Once the event gets going, I get to be playful and interactive while everyone is joyfully shaking their booties on the dance floor.
When it comes to weddings and receptions, what it your favorite part of the night and WHY?
My favorite part of the night is the second or third set of songs played during the open dancing period. The couple is out on the floor with the family and friends, people are singing along with the song, and I get to guide this feeling through the music selections. That’s pretty magical.
What is your favorite party song to play at events and WHY?
Right now, I really enjoy playing “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan because many people really connect to the song and just sing their hearts out! Any song that gets people singing along so happily, makes me super happy to see it.
Why did you decide to become a DJ?
I decided to become a DJ because I have always loved music. I love it as an art form. I also love how it makes people feel inside and then propels them to move. I like having the ability to wield music (like a sword!) as a way to help others celebrate and enjoy the moment they are in.
List one fun fact about you most people don’t know.
One fun fact about me is that I also love to dance, and have been known to break it down, from time to time. Another fun fact about me is that I love karaoke, as well.
"Shannon did an amazing job at my wedding! She was obviously very committed to making things run smoothly and made sure to get my input without asking unnecessary questions! I especially loved how she got out on the dance floor to dance along to the line dances so she could teach everyone how to do them. My dad also wanted me to say he loved her too and he feels like she was very personable and had great energy! Thanks again Shannon!"
"Our DJ Shannon was absolutely incredible. Unfortunately, the air conditioning at our wedding reception venue was broken, and it was a very hot day. As a result, most people weren't really up to dancing. Despite this, Shannon went all out with getting people up and dancing. She would hype everyone up and even went as far as to get out on the dance floor to get more people dancing. She never once complained about the heat. On top of everything, she was incredibly diligent with checking in with my husband and me to see what we wanted to do and what the vibe was for what music to play. She did an excellent job of finding a balance between playing music based on how everyone was acting and seeing what my husband and I wanted. She would even check in to make sure my husband and I had enough food and water. Additionally, another member of Complete Weddings + Events came in at the start of our reception to make sure everything was going well. We could clearly tell how much Complete Weddings + Events wanted to ensure we had a wonderful wedding reception. Even before our wedding, the process with them was smooth and easy. They ensured they had a clear understanding of what we wanted before our wedding day, which helped relieve us of some worry and stress. All in all, our experience with Shannon and Complete Weddings + Events was amazing! I would highly recommend Complete Weddings + Events to anyone planning a wedding."
