Why did you decide to become a videographer?

I studied different forms of storytelling while pursuing my degree in Media studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I fell in love with how the many different aspects of video (dialogue, music, visuals) come together to communicate so much in such a short amount of time.

What is your favorite memory from an event you've shot?

One of my favorite memories is from a wedding where the bridesmaids surprised the bride with a visit from her favorite animal: highland cows! The little cows showed up right after the ceremony during family photos, and she was definitely surprised! The cows stayed for the reception and made the whole day a bit cuter.

What is your favorite thing about being a videographer?

I really enjoy capturing the emotions of the day. It feels great to get a shot of a bride’s first look with her dad or a quiet moment between the couple and know that these unique moments have been preserved for the couples and their families.

What makes you or your work unique/stand out?

I try to make every video personal and tailored to each couple. That means prioritizing candid moments and natural audio, and gently encouraging couples and their loved ones to be present and open on camera.

What is your favorite part of the night?

I love interacting with all the guests and seeing their reactions to the events of the day! Weddings are ultimately a community event, and it’s great to see people come together to celebrate their loved ones. I always make sure to have a mic ready when couples speak to their guests during the reception or right after the ceremony. Those spontaneous, sincere moments often turn out to be some of the most memorable.

I am obsessed with my dog, and I love when people involve their dogs in their wedding!
