I would describe my DJ personality as laid-back, friendly, and fun. I want to keep the focus on the couple being the main attraction for the night and I just focus on creating the perfect playlist for everybody but still making sure that everyone has a good night!
A few years ago I got to DJ my sister‘s wedding a few years back and that was a blast being a groomsman and a DJ. It was very chaotic but a lot of fun to run around about being a DJ.
My favorite thing about being a DJ is when I nail that perfect song for the crowd. I know it sounds really cheesy, but I when I play that one song and the crowd cheers and I just know I’ve nailed it. That’s just my favorite feeling.
I think my ability to read a crowd and adapt to multiple situations is what really makes me stand out as a DJ. Whether it’s last-minute changes or surprises for the couple at the event, I’m able to adapt to those changes very swiftly.
My favorite part of the night is definitely the party time of the night. Once we get past all of the “wedding business” and really get all of the crowd on the dance floor and having a good time.
I think my favorite way to pack the dance floor is to kind of trick the guys out there. I’ll play a slow song to get a couples out and then immediately play a line dance and then at that point they are there, so they just kind of stay for the line dance and then you’ve got them out there.
I just kind of stumbled into being a DJ when I was in college and just kind of needed a weekend job. I was a music major so I didn’t have a lot of time during the week and it just kind of worked out to be on just Saturdays at first and then nine years later it’s grown and I’ve really come to love the job.
A fun fact about me is that I have a Bachelor’s Degree in music composition and can play 15 different instruments; including the saxophone, the piano, the guitar, the upright bass, the trumpet, the trombone, the tuba, the clarinet… haha, that’s all I can think of right now!

"Our DJ was Ryan and he was AMAZING!!! He kept the party upbeat and fun. The mix of songs he played was appropriate for all age groups and he knew exactly what songs to play to keep our guests dancing. Our dance floor was overflowing. Ryan was super charismatic and attentive. He made sure to play all of our requests as well as the requests of our guests. I can't say enough about Ryan! If you want an ALL-TIME BEST WEDDING EVER, you should definitely request Ryan! (The Knot; 5/5 Stars)"
"Ryan was fantastic! I had to find a new DJ due to my original DJ not being responsive, which made me very nervous as my wedding date was approaching. Complete immediately answered all my concerns and questions and found me a DJ right away, whom was super helpful and such a delight during our special day!
Ryan has a heart of gold and truly puts his whole heart into his work. He played everything exactly how we wanted and even helped with a personal dance in honor of my sibling who passed away. I wish so badly I had booked complete originally but beyond thankful that they saved the day! BOOK THEM! 10/10!!"
"Ryan with Complete Events was our DJ for our wedding ceremony and reception. He was so understanding over our music choices since we wanted some Disney, video game, and other nerdy background music for our ceremony. He lined up every song choice for our ceremony to the exact part that we wanted the song to start. For our reception, he kept the dance floor moving with a wonderful array of music from all decades for all parties to enjoy. He was a great emcee for our shoe game we played. He mixed in new and old line dances throughout the night. Seeing my grandmother and father-in-law dancing together was one of the best sights from the wedding and a memory I will always cherish. Ryan is an awesome DJ and we would recommend him to everyone. He even snuck in one more song at the end of the night for our wedding party last dance."
"My daughter and her husband chose a destination wedding at Nottoway Plantation. It was nerve racking to work with companies over 800 miles away. Complete totally delivered at every step. From the initial phone conversation to the on the fly changes during the reception, they were complete pros! We had bride, groom, wedding party and guest list full of professional ballroom dancers. Ryan kept everyone dancing totally in keeping with the theme - The best things happen when you dance!!"
"Ryan was very attentive to my music needs for my reception. He was available by phone regularly and listened to what I wanted to make my reception a fun, party atmosphere for my guests who ranged in age from two to eighty. I've gotten tons of compliments on the music at my wedding and how well the selection appealed to a large group of people. He did a good job of getting people on the dance floor without being pushy, and I enjoyed that he joined in the line dances to help people get the steps."
"As a wedding planner I use you often and in my eyes there is no better DJ company in the Baton Rouge area. Ryan was incredible and he made it so easy to work with him. Thank you Ryan!"
