John F. (Premium) | Event & Wedding DJ Baton Rouge, LA

When it comes to getting to party with Louisiana’s newest couples and to celebrate any and every occasion with music, John thinks DJ’ing is a no-brainer. John has been DJ’ing with Complete since 2006! (Yes, that was right out of high school for him!) John grew up with a passion for music and also enjoys playing guitar, writing music, leading worship at his church, and dabbling on the many other instruments he enjoys playing. John focuses on professionalism when he DJ’s.

Here’s what John has to say about himself:

“I would describe my DJ personality as very confident, but really a big part of my personality comes out when I meet with the bride to decide what she’s looking for in a DJ. I very much enjoy getting on the mic, interacting with the crowd, asking questions, and getting people on the dance floor. I love getting to be a DJ because it’s essentially like getting paid to party. You get to go out to an event that’s a lot of fun.

My favorite part of a wedding is at the end of the night. It’s really great to see the satisfaction on the guests’ faces and get to talk to the bride and groom about how much fun they had at the reception. It just really brings me a lot of joy, and that joy and that experience is one of the reasons I continue to DJ, and it is definitely my favorite part of the night.

I think what makes me unique as a DJ is that I really bring a strong sense of professionalism to the DJ experience. I work a normal 9-to-5. I am married. I have kids. I’ve done quite a few weddings and I really know what the bride expects. So, I bring a professional attitude when it comes to meeting with a bride and being on time for everything. It may seem like a small thing but I think that makes me really stand out among a lot of other DJs in the field.

My way to pack the dance floor is that I like to first put on a slow dance song, a crowd-pleaser to get everybody dancing out there with a special somebody or significant other. Then right after that, I like to put on the Cupid Shuffle. I know it can be a little bit of a cliché song to play these days but I really like it because you can get everybody on the dance floor and I can literally get out there with a microphone, teach everybody the dance in a few seconds and get the entire floor packed.  The reason I originally became a DJ was that I liked the idea that it was a fun job that I get to do to make a little extra cash. I could typically DJ on the weekends and still have a 9 to 5 but it’s really become a lot more than that. I’ve been a DJ since 2006. I’ve done hundreds of weddings. Really, just being a part of that special day and seeing people genuinely happy at the end of the night really means a lot.

One fun fact about me is that my wife and I played in a band years ago around Baton Rouge called Lucy and the Gamblers. It was a soul funk band and we played at local venues like Chelsea’s Café. I played guitar and wrote music for the band and it was a lot of fun.”
