Complete Weddings + Events Photographer

Laura

Creating home videos from old family photos first sparked my passion for photography and videography.  From engagements to weddings to anniversary films, I love capturing all the moments in between – the ones that go unnoticed and the ones that remain with you forever… and the ones you’ll cringe at later (that lovey dovey stuff)! Either way, having these captured moments for yourselves, your family, and your friends to reminisce over is why I do what I do!

What do you love most about capturing weddings?

Wedding photos hold a lot of value not only for the couple but for your family history. Each wedding has its own story, shaped by the couple’s personalities, traditions, and connections. I love the challenge of piecing together these details to create a visual narrative that’s personal and meaningful.

How would you describe your photography style?

As a wedding photographer, I strive to document weddings through a natural, authentic approach; prioritizing storytelling and genuine moments over staged shots. Photos that feel organic, emotional, and timeless. My candid, documentary style incorporates personal touches, intimate behind-the-scenes moments, with unobtrusive photo-taking. Truthfully, the photos that happen “by accident” are the ones that become the favourites!

What is your favourite moment to capture during a wedding?

My favourite moment to capture during a wedding is the “getting ready” portion. It’s rich with emotions, meaningful details, and intimate moments. Whether it’s a heartfelt conversation, a parent helping with final touches, or a shared laugh between friends, these connections are precious. For the couple, it’s often the calm before the storm—a chance to take in the magnitude of the day. The “getting ready” portion captures people in their most natural state, before the ceremony or the formalities begin. These moments are often unscripted, making them raw and authentic—a tearful hug, a nervous smile, or a deep breath before the big moment. The bride tries on her wedding dress and presents herself to her family before anyone sees her at the ceremony. The groom’s hands shaking out of excitement and nerves as he puts his cufflinks on. It is such a gift as a photographer to witness these two stories coming together as one. Might I add… the lighting in the morning… SO GOOD!

What is your favourite wedding venue/location to capture?

Looking back to this past year, one of my favourite wedding venues was a reception hosted at a family farm. These intimate locations often hold great value to the couple and more flexibility to truly live your first day as a married couple, any way you want! From a photography perspective, outdoor locations offer unique opportunities for creativity, natural beauty, and emotional storytelling. With gorgeous natural backdrops, lighting, dynamic visuals, and vibrant colours and textures; outdoor locations offer a sense of relaxation and peace with endless creative potential. For the couple mentioned earlier, their main living space had this stunning bay window. Their final toast happened right at sunset. When they clinked their glasses, the sun was in prime position! And that’s what makes it special.

What advice do you have for couples to feel more comfortable in front of the camera?

Stay in the moment. Weddings are deeply personal. When you and your soon-to-be spouse feel at ease, your true emotions—love, joy, excitement—shine through on camera. Embrace your nerves! It’s normal to feel nervous! Acknowledge it and trust your photographer/videographer to guide you. Sometimes, those shy moments translate beautifully on film as genuine emotion.

Focus on each other, not the camera. Treat the shoot as a time to be present with your spouse. Laugh, talk, and interact naturally. The time of the day dedicated to your couple portraits is not just for the camera. It’s the time for you to spend quietly with your spouse – your first moments as husband and wife. I’m here to third wheel!
