If you are looking for beautifully kept gardens, water features and to be surrounded by greenery then this is the spot for you! Just a helpful note though the Nathanael Greene Park and any other Springfield Park Board location will require a photo pass to take pictures.
2) Downtown Springfield | Springfield, MO
Do you like more of a modern and urban setting? Downtown Springfield is full of brick alleys, colorfully painted murals, and stunning city views at the top of Vantage Rooftop Lounge and the parking garages!
3) Commercial Street | Springfield, MO
Commercial Street is such a fun place to take pictures! Everywhere you turn you can find a pop of color whether it is one of the historic buildings, a fun door, or one of the artsy murals. Commercial Street is also is home to the Jefferson Avenue Footbridge, which is currently closed, but still makes a beautiful backdrop!

These properties are just a short hour drive from Springfield but I assure you that it is well worth it! Top of the Rock and Big Cedar’s views of the Ozark Mountains and the Table Rock Lake are BREATHTAKING! Besides the view, you will also see trails, water features, waterfalls, bridges, gorgeous chapels, and beautifully designed rustic buildings.

Located on the Missouri and Arkansas border Dogwood Canyon allows you to bike, hike, or even take a segway throughout its nature preserve. The park has STUNNING waterfalls, trails, streams, and bridges to use as your photo backdrop. Dogwood Canyon does have an admission fee.

Brick City is a hidden gem on the outskirt of downtown Springfield. What I love about it is the urban commercial feel! You will find a mixture of industrial and old brick buildings plus I love how it is not crowded with people walking around.

Springfield Lake is another photographer favorite to take engagement pictures. The area has beautiful lake views, wide-open fields, and lush wooded areas that all can be used to create a magical backdrop!
8) Lakeside Forest Wildness Area | Branson, MO
This park is one of my all-time favorite places to take couples when I am in the Branson area for pictures. My favorite thing about this location is the stunning views of Lake Taneycomo and rich history. Lakeside Forest Wilderness area has a hand-built wall that is still standing from the original homestead but unfortunately, the home burnt down several years ago. You will also find a waterfall and caves nestled in the lush wooden trails.
9) Lost Hill Park | Springfield, MO
Located just on the north side of Springfield, Missouri is Lost Hill Park. This hidden gem runs along the Dry Sac River and features 60 acres of fields, bluffs, caves, and woods. The park feeds right into the Fulbright Spring Greenway and with all the acreage between Lost Hill Park and the Greenway to explore you are sure to find some killer engagement locations!
10) Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Gardens | Springfield, MO
Just on the other side of Nathanael Greene Park is the entrance to the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll garden. Even though they charge an admission of $4 per adult to enter it is 100% worth it! The stroll garden makes for a magical backdrop with its Japanese landscaping, cherry blossom trees, koi lake, bridges, and meditation garden!
