Wedding Registry Must-Haves & Must-Dos

4.15.22

Having all of your loved ones in one place, on your special day is a major perk. The gifts they bring you will last a lifetime to come. When creating your wedding registry you’ll need to decipher what you want and what you need. Read on to figure out how to get started on your wedding registry and how to avoid getting unwanted items!

Wedding Registry Must-Haves & Must-Dos

Registry Must-Haves

Five categories you must not overlook for your registry include quality cookware, luxury linens, kitchen appliances, entertaining essentials, and Home and Décor items!

Quality Cookware:

From cast iron skillets to an entire set of pots and pans, upgrade to cookware that will last!

Luxury Linens:

Do you know what is better than falling asleep with your husband or wife? Falling asleep next to them in some super comfy sheets! Or perhaps its time to gain a new selection of hand towels, and throw out those ones you have from your college days.

Kitchen Appliances:

This is your time to put whatever your needs and wants are on your registry. If you want a Kitchen aid, put it down on your registry. Or maybe that’s not your style and you could use a new coffee maker, PUT IT DOWN.

Entertaining Essentials:

When your friends and family are gifting you things on your big day, they are wanting to give you things that you are sure to use. When you are thinking about your registry, think about them. What will they be able to use when they come to visit? Add formal options to your wine, cocktail, or beer glass collection, or add in stylish bowls, boards, or platters to serve in style!

Home and Décor items:

How awesome would it be to have a gift from a family member that makes life a bit more fun? Like a throw blanket from Aunt Jan, so whenever you use it you can think of her and how amazing it was seeing her at your wedding.

Avoid Unusable Gifts

Now that we have got your brain thinking about what to include on your registry, we have some tips on how to narrow down your choices. When creating your registry be mindful of your living space. Even though you really want that Kitchen Aid, do you have the counter space or storage for it? You don’t want to add things that may end up in the donate pile down the road, because you underestimated something as silly as storage space.

Cash Registries

Cash funds have been more common in recent years. Maybe you don’t want new items and you would rather create memories that will last longer than and physical gift ever could. You could even use that money for your honeymoon to make it just as special as your wedding day. Cash funds allow you to decide how that money is spent.

Where to Create A Registry

If you haven’t created a website, you should start there. It will be a one-stop-shop for everything related to your wedding for your guests, and that will include your registry. Wedding websites such as The Knot will allow you to create a registry on their website. You can also link your registry from online stores like Amazon and Target. The added benefit of Target, Bed Bath + Beyond, etc is that you can go in person and get a better idea of what the items look like in real life.

Review It Once More!

Once you have your registry all filled out with everything you could ever want and need, you can kick back and relax. Be prepared to go back approximately 1 month before your wedding (thats when your friends and family will most likely be buying your gifts) to see if you need to make any changes. You might have filled out the registry months in advance. The items you put on there may be out of stock, or maybe there are only a few things left on your registry and you need to add more things. Treat yourself the right way and give your registry a small update around the time RSVPs are due.

Now that you have checked one thing off your TO DO list, maybe it’s time to keep the ball rolling and continue this stress-free planning. Contact us for details on our wedding day services including day-of coordination, photo booth, lighting, DJ, videography, and photography!
