When Katharine + Christopher first met during their nursing school years in college, they had no idea that their path would forever be intertwined. After they graduated, Katharine got stationed in Washington, so they lost touch for a few years. However, fast forward to 2016, the wonderful world of social media allowed them to reconnect. Christopher made a Snapchat, added Katharine, and the rest is history. The next years were filled with moving around until they settled in Minnesota. One fateful day, Christopher decided to pop the question and Katharine said yes. Read on to learn more about Katharine and Christopher’s elegant wedding day!
First Looks
On an early October afternoon, Katharine and Christopher were ready for their wedding. They had spent the earlier moments of the day getting ready separately. The bride and groom met outside to have their first looks. Christopher stood with his back turned to Katharine. She slowly walked up to him, tapped him on the shoulder, and he turned around to see his beautiful bride.
The Elegant Wedding Bride
Katharine wore an a-line cut dress with a tulle skirt that flew gently in the breeze. The bodice of the dress was covered in a layer of lace. It had been cut into the perfect combination of a sweetheart and v-neckline. On the back of the dress, was a stunning lace embroidery over mesh fabric. Katharine had hints of crystals throughout the dress to add some sparkle. It was all brought together with a crystal belt around the waist with a shiny pearl right in the middle. Pearl moments showed up in Katharine’s accessories to tie it all together.
Church Wedding Ceremony
Once the couple had spent their moment alone, they were ready to begin their ceremony. Guests arrived at the Christ The King Catholic Church. Each of them took seats in the light wood benches on opposite sides of the church. Music began playing, signaling the beginning of the ceremony.
Wedding Party Attire
Two by two, the wedding party walked down the aisle. Each of the bridesmaids wore cabernet red dresses. Each chiffon dress had different a different neckline to flatter each of the ladies. The groomsmen wore navy blue suits, paired with white button-down shirts. For accessories, they wore navy blue ties (bowtie for the groom), and brown shoes. The combination of the two colors made a perfect early fall color palette.
Katharine made her way up the aisle and met Christopher at the altar. Hand in hand, they each made promises, exchanged vows, and sealed it all with a kiss. Katharine and Christopher were finally husband and wife!
Elegant Wedding Reception Decor
With the newly married couple, everyone was ready to celebrate. They made their way over to the Somerby Golf Club. The perfect timing of the sunny day made the venue even better. The sun peaked over the rolling hills of the golf course. Inside where the reception was to take place was an overall cream finish. Tables were lined with ivory table cloths and red napkins. Above, you could see gold curtains and light fixtures. They all combined to make the perfect elegant wedding.
Party Time!
Once cocktail hour was over, the wedding party was ready to make their entrance. They each entered two by two until they lead up to Katharine + Christopher. The two happily made their way to their head table. They were greeted with cheers and toasts into their new chapter. The last part of the night included cake cutting, and of course some dancing. The bride and groom were set to start their new journey in their life together.
