Wedding receptions are, under the right DJ or entertainer, an absolute blast and the celebration of your brand new marriage! There are so many ways you can celebrate but everyone knows the traditional things you do. You’re definitely going to have a dinner or at least some type of food, you’ll likely have speeches or toasts, cake, and of course dancing. However, there are other ways you can entertain your guests and celebrate outside of the traditional things that everyone does.

Shoe Game/Newlywed Wedding Reception Games
The shoe game is the most commonly known wedding game. It pits the couple against each other (in a fun way) to answer questions about each other! The DJ will get the couple out to the dancefloor and will have each of them take their shoes off. One spouse will hand their shoe to the other and vice versa. The DJ will then ask the couple questions like, “who controls what you watch on T.V. the most?”. The couple will answer these questions by raising either their shoe or the spouses (their shoe if they think the answer to the question is themselves and their spouse’s if they think the answer to the question is their spouse). This is a fun way of allowing the crowd to get to know you as a couple and provides a few laughs most of the time!
Survivor
Survivor is a bit of a lesser-known game but is one of the most entertaining things you can do at a wedding! During this game, the DJ will bring up the wedding party and will have chairs lined up at the front of the room so everyone can see. The DJ will then ask the group to go out and find an item like maybe a specific brand of chapstick and the last member of the wedding party to arrive at the chairs will have theirs removed. This will go on until there’s one member of the wedding party left. This game gets your wedding party involved but still provides entertainment for your guests who tend to have a laugh watching everyone search the wedding for different items.
Complete Interactive
Complete Interactive is something that’s totally exclusive to a Complete Weddings + Events DJ and is a form of entertainment that gets everyone involved, not just a few playing while others watching! We will bring a projector and screen and will have a few options for your guests to interact with right from their phones! There are a few things we can do with Complete Interactive, the most common thing that will run all night is our social wall. This will look like a social media wall that scrolls automatically throughout the night and allows your guests to post photos and messages for the couple. The second thing that will show up on the screen for your guests is song polls, allowing your guests to vote for songs they want to hear throughout the night. The last thing we do with this service is the Wedding Party Feud!
For the Wedding Party Feud, the DJ will get the wedding party out to the dance floor and have one spouse’s side of the wedding party stand on one side and the other spouse’s side stand facing them. We then test each group on how well they know the spouse opposite their side of the wedding party. For example, if there are a group of bridesmaids with the bride we may ask them “what superpower would the groom choose if they could pick one?”. The guests can help out these bridesmaids by voting for the option they think is correct to keep the guests involved! We’ll keep the score for each side of the wedding party until the game is over and we announce a winner!
