What got you started in doing videography?

Since my early teen years, I’ve always loved being either behind or in front of the camera; recording silly skits with my brothers or filming school projects.  I was no expert then, but it was the fuel that would propel me to pursue an acting/directing degree at Chadron State College and soon after an audio production degree through Full Sail University.

What sparks your passion for it?

Video is compelling to me because it can be used for multiple outlets: to recall a momentous event, to communicate an idea, to simply tell a story, and more!  I believe a film can be one of the most impactful tools to touch a soul. When I’m behind the camera, I’m catching the highlights of someone’s life, sharing in their most precious of moments, to be forever locked into history for future generations to enjoy.

What makes your work unique or stand out?

When recording video, I’m looking at more than just what’s coming through the lens.  My mind is already in post-production phase on the day, imagining how each shot can fit into the puzzle to create the perfect video. When it comes to weddings, there’s only “one shot moments,” no do-overs.  So I make sure to have redundancies in place to insure no vow, toast, blessing, or other moment of great importance is missed.
