Macy + Griffin’s May Wedding at The Palazzo
Some weddings have a style that never goes out of fashion. Macy and Griffin’s May 22 wedding at The Palazzo was one of them. Their elegant black-and-white design paired perfectly with the venue, creating a day that felt classic from beginning to end.
After 10 years together, it was exciting to watch these childhood sweethearts finally become husband and wife. The two first met at a basketball tournament as kids, and later both played sports in college. They even found a way to include that part of their story throughout the celebration.
Getting Ready for the Day
The morning was filled with excitement as everyone got ready at The Palazzo. Macy looked incredible in an off-the-shoulder ball gown from For the One Bridal. The oversized bow on the back gave the dress a timeless look, while the lace-trimmed veil added beautiful detail. She completed her bridal look with pearl earrings, black Betsey Johnson heels, and a half-up, half-down hairstyle by Salon for Women. Kimberly Monae gave her a beautiful silk press to complete the style. Griffin and his groomsmen kept things classic with black suits and black ties that fit the wedding’s color palette perfectly.
First Looks Worth Remembering
Before the ceremony, Macy and Griffin shared a first look outside The Palazzo. Griffin’s reaction was one of our favorite moments from the day. The smile on his face said everything before either of them even spoke.
Not long after, Macy shared a first look with her dad. It was one of those moments that reminded everyone what weddings are really about. He couldn’t stop smiling. There were plenty of happy tears before it was time to head inside.
A Classic Ceremony and Reception
The ceremony took place inside The Palazzo surrounded by elegant white florals and clean black-and-white details. Nothing felt overdone. Every piece came together to create a sophisticated setting for Macy and Griffin to exchange vows. As the evening went on, they snuck out once more for sunset photos before joining everyone back inside for the reception.
At The Palazzo, everything flows naturally from the getting-ready spaces to the ceremony, courtyard, and reception. It makes the day feel relaxed for both couples and guests while offering beautiful backdrops every step of the way.
Personal Touches
The details throughout the reception reflected Macy and Griffin’s story together. Instead of a traditional guest book, guests signed the backs of two basketball jerseys. It was such a fun way to honor where they first met and the sports that have always connected them. Another favorite detail was their hand-painted cake-cutting plate. It’s a keepsake they’ll be able to enjoy long after the wedding day. Their first dance to Always by Daniel Caesar was the perfect way to kick off the evening before everyone joined them on the dance floor.
Ending the Night on the Dance Floor
Once DJ Jimma opened the dance floor, guests were ready to celebrate. It stayed full throughout the night, and the dance floor from Diehl Event Rentals gave everyone plenty of room to join in. It was so much fun watching family and friends celebrate Macy and Griffin after such a long journey together.
