What to Put in the Details Box for Your Wedding Photographer

Detail photos are some that you may not always think about taking but will often times be some that you cherish the most. It is a simple and elegant way for your photographer to capture little things that you put a lot of thought into during your planning process. Things that are meaningful to you as a couple, and things that don’t always get their moment to shine during your wedding celebration. Here is a list of key things to include in a detail box for your wedding photographer.

  • Invitation suite (this could include an addressed envelope, the invitation, information card, RSVP card and RSVP envelope)
  • Save the Date
  • Rings & Ring Boxes
  • Additional Jewelry – Watch, earrings, necklace, bracelets. If any of them are gifts, it’s great to let your photographer know so they can make sure to give them their own special photo moment.
  • Shoes- For each of you!
  • Tie/Tie clip
  • Perfume/Cologne- a lot of couples will pick special scents to wear on their wedding day.
  • A few spare flowers that match your floral décor – Some photographers will include one of the bridal bouquets, a corsage, and/or a boutonniere as well.
  • Wedding Favor – Sunglasses, coozies, bottle openers, hats, whatever favor you decide to send home with your guests is a perfect memento to include in your detail photos!
  • Vows/Vow Books
  • “Something Old/Something New/Something Borrowed/Something Blue” – if you decide to follow this old adage, including these items is a fun way to make sure they have their moment.
  • Misc Decor – Ceremony programs, table numbers, dinner menus, anything small along those lines is worth putting in. It gives your photographer more to play with, and is another way to commemorate all the thought you have put into your wedding day!

Of course, it is always best to go over this with your photographer and find out if they have any specific items they want to request from you and your fiancé.
