Learn More About Vanessa

Why did you decide to become a photographer?

Photography began as a passion over 11 years ago, and it quickly became clear that it was more than just a hobby. Being able to capture light, emotion, and human connection in an artistic way was something I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to.

What is your favorite thing about being a photographer?

I love the privilege of telling people’s love stories. Every wedding is different, and being able to capture those one-of-a-kind moments that couples can relive for years is the most rewarding part of what I do.

What makes you or your work unique / stand out?

My work is deeply personal and influenced by both nature and storytelling. I specialize in capturing the in-between moments. Those candid laughs, glances, and emotions, while still guiding couples in a natural, flattering way. My approach is romantic, artistic, and designed to make you feel comfortable and celebrated.

List one fun fact about you most people do not know:

When I’m not behind the camera, I love diving into books about astronomy, mysticism, and human consciousness. I am always seeking new inspiration and ways of seeing the world that influence my photography.

What’s an awesome moment you always make sure to capture at a wedding?

The in-between moments. The hand squeezes, the happy tears, the deep breaths before walking down the aisle. Those fleeting emotions often become the images couples treasure most.

Do you have a favorite moment from your own wedding or one you’ve attended?

At a friend’s wedding, the couple chose to step away for a few quiet minutes right after the ceremony. Watching them take in the moment, just the two of them, was a beautiful reminder of what the day is truly about.

What’s one unexpected item you always keep in your camera bag?

A silk scarf. I use it for creative shots with movement, reflections, or even softening light. It’s simple but adds magic to photos.

What’s one fun fact people are surprised to learn about you?

I’m fascinated by the stars and often spend evenings stargazing. That love of light and wonder finds its way into my photography.

What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend in Colorado Springs when you’re not photographing weddings?

I love exploring cozy bookstores, sipping coffee at local cafés, and going on long walks in nature. Those quiet moments fuel my creativity.

What do most couples say about you after working with you?

Couples often tell me they felt truly cared for that I brought a calming presence to their day and captured not only how it looked, but how it felt.
