I found photography by happy coincidence. My wife started as a hobby many years ago. She eventually started working as a photographer and soon brought me along to help with shoots. However, once I initially picked up a camera, I knew that this was something that I could really enjoy and be good at.
My favorite thing about photography is being able to capture a moment. Life happens so fast and photography is a way to freeze it in place. I also love the challenge of always working to improve my skills and knowledge as a photographer. While weddings are my favorite to capture, I also love to shoot sports and wildlife.
One thing that makes my work unique is the ability to capture different angles and analyze shots. I have always loved to draw and create, and I find that this has helped me to always search for the best angle as I work.
I coach high school wrestling.
Aside from the obvious (first look, walk down the aisle, first kiss etc.), I love sunset photos! I like this moment so much not just because of the jaw dropping lighting, but also, because it is after the hustle and bustle of the day and it gives the couple a chance to just be with each other and be themselves.
I try to always keep a Tide-to-Go pen in my bag. You never know when a groomsman might cause an accident.
My wife and I love the speakeasy scene in Colorado Springs, and we try to take advantage of the awesome downtown atmosphere whenever we can. Outside of the city, we love to hike, snowboard, and explore Colorado’s beautiful outdoors.
