Kim and Tyler’s love story began during orientation week at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. What started as a friendship blossomed into something deeper just before winter break of their freshman year, when they officially became a couple. As their relationship grew, they made significant milestones together, including buying a house and welcoming a few furry friends into their lives. After building a beautiful life together, Tyler popped the question, and the couple celebrated their love by tying the knot. Their journey from friends to lifelong partners is a testament to their strong bond and shared adventures, making their wedding day a truly special celebration of their unique story. That is what led them to a windy wedding at The Barns of Old Glory.
Kim and Tyler tied the knot at the beautiful yet windy Barns of Old Glory in St. Charles, surrounded by the charm of rustic elegance. Their celebration was made even more memorable with the help of a full team from Complete Weddings + Events, which included photography, videography, DJ services, and a photobooth. This all-in-one approach ensured that every moment was captured and that the energy of the celebration was perfectly matched, allowing the couple and their guests to fully enjoy their special day without any worries.
Having a dedicated team for your wedding can make all the difference in creating a flawless day. When vendors work seamlessly together, it ensures that every detail is carefully coordinated, allowing the couple to enjoy their special moments without stress. From the photographer capturing candid smiles to the DJ setting the perfect mood, a cohesive team enhances the overall experience. This collaboration allows for open communication and adaptability, so any last-minute changes can be handled smoothly. Ultimately, having a strong team not only elevates the quality of the event but also allows the couple to focus on what truly matters: celebrating their love surrounded by family and friends.
When recapping the wedding Leah, the photographer noted “IT WAS SO WINDY but the couple was so chill and laid back, it didn’t phase them at all. It was a sweet ceremony, they did a “tree lighting” as their unity ceremony. The groom is an electrician, so he made it out of copper and wired it to light up with twinkle lights. It was very cute”
Kim submitted a few vendor reviews for future Brides to read:
The Barns of Old Glory (venue) owners Mark and Betty were also easy to communicate with and had good pointers about what works well in their space. The guests thought the venue was gorgeous.
Mark Lucker (of Liz Rae and Co) did a wonderful job wrapping our stories into a sweet ceremony. We had fun getting to know him as we met during the planning stages.
Callie Spelhaug and the team from Pinnacle Catering were great to work with as we decided what food we wanted during the planning stages. On the day of, they proved tasty meals for everyone including those with special diets. They also packed everything away swiftly and made cleaning up the next day a breeze.
Jacquelyn (of First Looks LLC) was able to make all of my bridal party feel comfortable while getting their makeup done (some for the first time). She made everyone look and feel beautiful.
Robin Kurtz helped me prep my hair with a trim and treatment before the big day and made everyone’s hair look great and hold thru the wind on the day of. She knows my curls well.
Jenny (of JT Floral & Gift) made some beautiful bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages with many different textures and elements. She was easy to work with and delivered them early.
A few other much needed honorable mentions:
Wedding dress is from Bridal Aisle Boutique.
Bridesmaids’ dresses are from Azazie.
Suits are from State & Liberty.
Cupcakes/cake was from good Hy-VeeLast but not least here is what she had to say about her Complete Team: “Leah and Lane did a great job bouncing ideas off of each other on ways up capture the day. Felicia was great at working with the wind at the ceremony, matching the “vibe” of who was on the dance floor, and getting people excited. Zoe really brought the energy to the photobooth and created a great keepsake book for us. Thanks!”
