Tips and Tricks to Make the Most of Bridal Shows

10.6.23

Planning your dream wedding can be stressful and overwhelming, but it doesn’t need to be. Attending a bridal show can help create some excitement during the stressful time of planning. Here are some tips and tricks to make the most of bridal shows.

Create an Email Specifically for Your Wedding Needs

Every vendor will ask for your contact information, so creating a new email will keep all the important information in one, easily accessible place. A “wedding only” email also keeps all your information organized and easier to find when planning, booking, or referring to important conversations with potential vendors. After the show, you will receive TONS of emails. Vendors often send out promotions and deals via email that might get lost in your personal inbox. You don’t miss out on saving money because you never saw an email.

Make A List

Be thorough. Make a list of vendors you would like to meet and the questions you may have for each service. Be intentional with the conversations you have, this is your opportunity to have a face to face meet and greet with the people who will be a part of your wedding. Walk in with a purpose. Do note a lot of bridal show deals are same day only, so the more prepared you are to make a deposit, the more money you can save. Look at the list of vendors ahead of time. Know who you may be interested in!

Enter to Win

Many vendors use bridal shows to promote savings, deals, and even giveaways. Enter to win things that peak your interest. Who doesn’t love FREE stuff?

Don’t Sign Up with Vendors You are Not Interested In

After each bridal show, vendors follow up with the brides and grooms who gave them their contact information. If you are on the fence about a service, take their information. Don’t sign up for more information just because you stopped by. Vendors reach out to see how they can help; don’t be afraid to let them know you are no longer interested or have already booked someone else. Take your time to ask lots of questions.

Make a Day of It

Whether your entourage consists of your closest friends, a mother-daughter day, or you and your soon-to-be husband: make a day out of it! These things can get pretty packed, and the early bird gets the worm. Showing up first will give you the opportunity to talk to vendors one-on-one without having to compete with crowds. Always a bonus! And be sure to eat a little something beforehand, but be prepared for lots of delicious samples from caterers and bakers. Leave room for treats.

Take Photos and Notes

Embrace the inspiration and keep an open mind! You will likely see a booth and realize you had never thought about it being at your big day, but now that you have, you can’t live without it. Decide what vendors are most important that you’re willing to spend a bit more on than others.

When in doubt, write it down. You’ll be bombarded with info, so note-taking is your friend. Bring a pen and a pad of paper or even use a note-taking app on your phone. And don’t be afraid to snap a pic or two of something you really like—whether it’s a pretty piece of jewelry or a really fabulous cake—to reference later. You will see a lot of different things throughout the day, so it’s a good idea to visually bookmark your favorites.
