Virginia and Brett’s journey is a beautiful tale of fate and timing. Two people living in different states across the country had their paths cross unexpectedly, yet at that moment, it just wasn’t the right time. However, when the stars finally aligned, their first date in Sturgis lasted an unforgettable seven days, and the rest, as they say, is history. It truly was a love story across the miles for a while.
We began capturing the excitement as Virginia and the bridesmaids prepared at the charming Water Street Inn.
Brett is Smart, be like Brett, here is a tip for guys planning to propose:
It’s important to consider hiring a photographer for your proposal or engagement photos shortly after your proposal. The girl you’re planning to propose to wants this special moment captured beautifully. After all, you never know when your jeweler might showcase your proposal photos on a billboard, like D. J. Bitzan Jewelers. A professional photographer can ensure that the emotions and details are perfectly captured, giving you both lasting memories to cherish. Not to mention you can showcase those photos for engagement announcements, save the date, invitations, on your wedding website, and through your wedding venue. Investing in a photographer is a small price to pay for such an unforgettable moment! Inquire about a proposal photographer HERE!
Bridal party and immediate family met up at the Stillwater Bridge, to take photos with the bride and groom 2 hours prior to the departure of the boats. This helped eliminate any extra stress for Brett and Virgina once they were on the boats knowing the traditional photos were done. Now they just needed to say I do and enjoy the rest of the night on the river celebrating with their family and friends.
It’s only fitting they would stretch their wedding across two states as well embarking from Minnesota and traveling to Wisconsin down the St Croix and back to Minnesota again. On September 28, Virginia and Brett exchanged vows aboard the stunning Stillwater River Cruises. With DJ Todd setting the mood and Ari R. behind the camera, the day was filled with love and laughter.
The ceremony took place on the iconic Stillwater River Cruises. where family and friends gathered to witness the couple’s heartfelt commitment. At precisely 4 PM, the boat set sail, and by 4:20, the Guthmillers were pronounced husband and wife, sealed with a joyous kiss.
To sweeten the celebration, Nothing Bundt Cakes provided a delightful dessert that added a special touch to the festivities. The party continued on the dance floor, where guests joyfully participated in the Macarena and the Chicken Dance, creating an atmosphere of pure celebration.
Stillwater River Cruises provided a meal that was so delicious, even the bride and groom gave it a thumbs up!
While Virginia and Brett started a love story across the miles, we are wishing them a lifetime of happiness, adventure, and cherished moments as they embark on this exciting new chapter together. (Hopefully in the same state.) Congratulations to the newlyweds!
