When looking back on your #BestDayEver it can be hard to have zero regrets. Maybe the sun didn’t show or your earring fell out during pictures. While we hope you have none, we want to share a few of the biggest wedding regrets so that you can plan ahead and get a little bit closer to the PERFECT wedding!

Missing out on a photo op with a special someone because you hired an inexperienced photographer

Hiring an experienced WEDDING photographer is KEY! You will want to make sure they have a vast knowledge of how timelines for weddings generally flow. You will also want to make sure that they are experienced with lining up family photos as well. Also, work with your photographer to add specific people outside your immediate family who might not be on their standard wedding photo list. Maybe your great aunt is flying in from Washington, your cousin just had the cutest newborn, or you’ve just never had a great photo of you and your grandpa. Of course, we wish we could get a photo with everyone, but really think about who you’ll regret not having a professional photo with. An experienced photographer will be able to help you build that list of must-have photos!

Not vetting your DJ

This is another big one, it is super important when hiring your DJ, to number one hire a professional. Someone licensed and insured, and again has wedding experience. Your DJ will serve as the timeline manager for your day, making sure things move along your timeline as planned. A good DJ can truly make or break your event. Personality here is a big factor as well. You will need to decide if you want a more outgoing or reserved DJ. Both have the ability to be great it’s just deciding the overall feel that you want for your wedding and what your comfort level is. Not hiring a videographer

This is by far the regret we hear about most often. Did you know videographers are typically more affordable than your photographer? Photo stills of the day will always be a timeless piece of memorabilia, but with the day being such an epic blur to most brides and grooms, getting to actual rewatch the emotions as they unfolded in those special moments is quite astonishing and moving. Having a wedding video is something you’ll always cherish! It is totally worth the investment!

Not hiring a Day of Coordinator

Centerpieces, playlists, seating arrangements, bridesmaid dresses, room décor, something blue. Seriously we could go on for a while here. When many brides and grooms look back, they stressed a little too much on some smaller details that just didn’t really matter in the scope of things. Hiring a Day of Coordinator to take care of all of these details and more relieves all the stress of making sure all the details that you spent months and months planning are in place.
