Tessa “DJ T”

Known by family and friends as Tess, Tessa was born in Virginia in October 2006 and has lived in multiple states including Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Arizona, and California. These diverse experiences have shaped her into a resilient and adaptive individual, especially after becoming independent at a young age and being raised by her grandparents since the age of 12.

From early on, Tessa dreamed of becoming a corrections officer—a goal she continues to pursue today as a Criminal Justice student at Central Community College (CCC). Her passion for this field was sparked by personal experiences, and her dedication is reflected in her professional journey, which includes an internship with the Custer County Sheriff’s Department.

While studying, Tessa has balanced work in multiple roles—from CNA at Rose Lane Home to server, cook, and guest relations at various local establishments. Today, she thrives as a DJ at Complete Weddings + Events, where she brings energy, empathy, and joy to every event she DJs. She loves connecting with people through music and stories, making every celebration memorable.

An avid volleyball fan and proud supporter of the Huskers Volleyball team, Tessa also holds a deep passion for advocating for veterans and those in nursing homes. One of her most rewarding accomplishments includes becoming a Certified Trainer at Raising Cane’s, showing her dedication to leadership and growth.

Tessa’s story is one of strength, ambition, and authenticity. Her goal is to continue bringing happiness to others—whether it’s through music on the weekends or meaningful service in the criminal justice system. Her favorite advice? “There are no regrets in life, just lessons.”
