Ian | Fargo Wedding Videographer

I became a videographer because I’ve always loved telling stories and because my parents never had a wedding video (which still feels like a missed opportunity). I also saw plenty of not-so-great wedding videos growing up and knew I wanted to do it better. What I love most about this job is that it’s genuinely meaningful, while still being a lot of fun. I get to capture moments couples don’t even realize are happening, then turn them into something they’ll watch for years. One of my favorite parts of the day is when couples and their families come up afterward, realizing just how many big and small moments were caught on film. I especially love recording interviews and shoutouts from friends and family — those little clips always end up being the most emotional, funniest, and most rewatched parts of the final video.

What is your favorite thing about being a videographer?

For me, videography is an act of service. Knowing that something I create can strengthen relationships, spark meaningful conversations, and give couples a way to relive one of the happiest days of their lives for generations is incredibly rewarding. There’s nothing better than creating something that continues to bring joy long after the wedding day is over.

Why did you decide to become a videographer?

Growing up, I realized how easy it is for wedding memories to fade. My parents never had a wedding video, and the few family videos I did see left so much of the story untold. I’ve always enjoyed creating videos, so I decided to combine that passion with the opportunity to tell one of the most important stories a couple will ever have.

What is your favorite part of a wedding night?

My favorite part of a wedding day is capturing the interviews and heartfelt messages from family and friends. Those unscripted words often become some of the most meaningful parts of a wedding film, giving couples memories, stories, and voices they can revisit for years to come.
