Their Story
Jacquelyn + Joshua’s love story is about a journey of finding their way home to each other. They initially met at an apartment complex they both lived in. One day, fate let them cross paths at the volleyball court that was there. Since that moment, Joshua couldn’t stop thinking about her. They went on multiple dates in Wilmington, NC before they officially became a couple. They dated for a while and moved across states until finally making their way back down the sweet south in Charleston, SC. It wasn’t long after their move down south that Jacquelyn + Joshua realized that the home they had been looking for was right in front of them all along. The beginning of their next chapter started September 4, 2021, their Dunes West wedding day!
Getting Ready
After months on end of putting together the day of their dreams, Jacquelyn + Joshua’s wedding day finally came. On the morning of, the wedding party separated into their designated suites.
In the bridal suite, the bride and her bridesmaids got ready for their day. The bridal party slipped into their silk striped jammies, all matching of course, in a light shade of blue. The bride had a similar set but stood out with an ivory color.
Hair + Makeup
Soon they began hair and makeup. Jacquelyn chose to go for a delicate makeup look with bronze tones for eyeshadow. These tones made her eyes pop! She topped off her eyes with a subtle winged eyeliner. For lips, the bride opted for a nude lip to create a timeless look. When it came to her hair, Jacquelyn had tousled curls that got put in a half-up, half-down look. With a few strands left out to frame her face.
Bridesmaids’ Dresses
After hair and makeup, the girls were ready to put on their dresses. The bridesmaids all wore dresses in a beautiful consistent shade of steel blue. Although the shade was consistent, the shapes of the dresses were varied. They all came in different cuts and styles to flatter each bridesmaid.
Everyone was now ready to walk down the aisle!
Dunes West Wedding Ceremony
All sorts of emotions were flying in the air at the Dune’s West Golf and River Club that evening. Things settled as the music began playing, signaling guests that the ceremony was beginning. Two by two, the bridesmaids and groomsmen made their way down the aisle. Finally leading up to the lady of the hour.
The Dress
As golden hour began, Jacquelyn emerged on the stone path, hand in hand with her father. She wore a dress that was made with every detail in mind to create a stunning bride. It followed the shape of an A-line, as it was tight on the bodice, and slowly extended out to the bottom. There were two bands at her waist that created a flattering figure for the bride. As she walked down the aisle, the lace that made its way from the bodice and down the skirt caught the eye of every guest. This lace eventually faded into tulle that made it look like she was gliding down the aisle. The back of the dress mimicked the front with the exception of buttons going down her back.
Groom’s Attire
Jacquelyn met her future husband at the end of the aisle under the big oak tree that overlooked the lake. The water captured the sun’s glistening rays, creating a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony. She held Joshua’s hand at the altar and looked at the man before her. He wore a black suit and tie. It was paired with a white button-down, handkerchief, and flower boutonniere. A wave of flashbacks hit her as she thought of every moment they shared that led to this. Finally… “I dos” were said and it was official!
Reception
The bride + groom happily ran back down the aisle hand in hand as they were now husband and wife! Celebrations began indoors for their Dunes West wedding reception. Guests were welcomed to candle-lit tables, with gold metal accents methodically placed throughout the venue space.
The night continued with dancing, laughter, and toasts to the newly wedded couple! They even made time for some cake cutting of a beautiful blue cake. All in all, the night left everyone with an overwhelming amount of joy. Home was finally found within Jacquelyn + Joshua.
