Why did you decide to become a photographer?

I began photography in 1997, mainly just shooting photos of my friends and I skateboarding and enjoying the creativity of it all. I then progressed into a high school portfolio class. Though I ended up pursuing a degree in television production, the basics of photography provided a backbone for video and it remains a passion.

What is your favorite memory from an event you’ve photographed?

It’s hard to pick a single favorite, there have been so many different and unique events. From a couple dancing in a tornado warning level storm, to Nightmare Before Christmas inspired dress and decor, and numerous spur of the moment photo opps, each event has its own fingerprint

What is your favorite thing about being a photographer?

I enjoy the creativity and collaborating ideas with couples and clients to create and capture moments they can enjoy for decades to come.

What makes your or your work stand out?

I enjoy shooting, and I end up spending more time shooting small details and getting extra shots and experimenting with different lighting. I feel this offers a bit more to the client and I enjoy the creative process.

What is your favorite part of an event?

The first 5-10min is probably my favorite. I’m always excited and ready to begin making something. I enjoy the first walk around and getting a feel for the event.

What’s something most people don’t know about you? 

I have a small Youtube channel combining my passions for photography, video and turtle conservation. I enjoy creating videos and making appealing shots and educating about the planets most endangered vertebrates.
