As the owner of Complete Weddings + Events I have the best job in the world. I get to go to a party every single weekend and entertain people. My favorite part is taking a bride’s vision and helping to make it a reality. My goal at a wedding is to make the bride dance, laugh and cry (tears of joy, of course) all in the same night.
We had the pleasure of Complete Weddings and Events for our wedding. The website /forms were user friendly and easy to fill out. Rich made sure everything went smoothly from first contact to night of. He worked with myself and my coordinator throughout the night to make the night a smooth transition. I will periodically watch the facial expressions of the hosts. If they seem to be looking lackluster, I will simply go up to them and inquire as to what I can do to make them enjoy themselves more. It could be offering to get a refreshment for them, or to change the music that is currently playing.

My personality is vibrant. I can certainly be reserved when the occasion calls for it. But when things get going, sometimes my smile, attitude and dancing along can be infectious.

Helping ease the tension of a bride and groom’s special day brings its own rewards. If they can relax early during the reception after a nerve-wracking ceremony with the music I play for them, and the bride and groom can still dance it up later on when I change the mood from light dinner music to “now let’s party!”, and when the right song or ice breaker keeps everybody jumping on the dance floor, then it is always all worth it.
What makes you a unique DJ?
I keep venue staff members, caterers, photographers & videographers in the loop with what is on the itinerary at any given hectic behind-the-scenes moment. This makes the flow of the evening seem easy and effortless to the hosts and the guests, which is exactly how it should be.
Patrick did an amazing job as DJ for our wedding! He called the week of our wedding and focused on the details (even what specific versions of songs we requested to play during our reception) to talk us through the plan for the day. Our ceremony was in a different location than our reception and he set up in both spaces and arrived early to make sure he had time to get it all done. During the reception, he came over to us and checked in regularly, played a perfect playlist to fit the vibe we were going for during cocktail hour and dinner, and then kept the energy up on the dance floor with his selections and getting out on the floor for a couple of group dances! We repeatedly have received compliments about Patrick as being one of the best DJs our guests had seen at a wedding, and we agree!
We used Complete Weddings + Events Atlanta to DJ our wedding. Our DJ, Patrick, was super friendly and knowledgeable. He helped with everything from coordinating the timing of things to the playlists. Come dance time, our crowd was a little shy getting to the dance floor. Patrick took the initiative and came up to me with a suggestion to get more people dancing. And guess what - it worked! From the Cupid Shuffle on, it was so much more lively and people were moving! We are very thankful for his experience and affable manner.
The ease of booking, communication and billing were definitely a plus - took the hassle and stress off me immediately.
As for the DJ - just couldn't be any more pleased. This is our second year having him. He can read the crowd like no other - adapts to the different groups we have throughout the weekend and caters to them directly.
Our group can vary from 200 - 400 so we do some shuffling around and he just goes with the flow which again is stress taken off my shoulders.

First and foremost I like to call the hosts a week before their event to go over details, requests, and important information to ensure everything runs smoothly and meets their expectations. During the event I make sure to approach the hosts, coordinators, and event hall managers to make sure everything is going great and that everyone is happy. I go out of my way to make sure each and every host has a perfect 10 event!

Being a part of a wedding is very special. The feeling I get watching the hosts ceremony/reception come together is so awesome! I have had the great pleasure of being an Emcee, Event Host, and DJ for Carnival Cruise Lines for 4 years. As an Assistant Cruise Director my job was to make sure crowds of thousands were happy, entertained, and having the best time possible during their vacation. Once I moved back to land for work I realized quickly that I was missing one very special part of my life–entertaining. Being a DJ for Complete Music allows me to have that part of my life back again and in return it is my goal to give you 110% of everything I have during your event to ensure that you have the most memorable time possible that you will cherish for a lifetime.

Uplights- These definitely added a magical touch. I was unsure about doing these at all, but I am so glad that I did. Everything was so perfect.

In the planning process, we were asked for a list of songs to play during reception and he made sure to play all the hits. He noticed when a song didn't add people to the dance floor and changed gears for the next one! He knew we wanted people to dance and have fun.
Our wedding ended a little earlier, we had an older crowd, and soon it was just immediate family; we asked Duke if the groom and I could have a last dance of our first song and he made it very special for us. We could not have asked for a better ending to our night.
Also, I loved the planning docs, it laid everything out that we needed and we were really able to customize our songs. This is a great company to work with.
I also managed to hire a videographer with the company, literally last minute, and once the final product is received I will write the review but just the fact I was able to add last minute and had no clue they were even there is amazing. I did not feel like there was a camera in my face and it allowed the ceremony to feel completely natural. I can't wait to see the final product.
Overall, this is a fantastic company and I highly recommend.
Duke was absolutely amazing! I’ve gotten so many compliments about him, and we definitely recommend him for any event. He called me a few days before the wedding to walk through everything with me - beginning to end and gave recommendations when I needed them. Duke was so kind to us when we made a last-minute change as well! As for the company, when we decided to switch our venues to somewhere different, the company was so willing to work with us to make sure our day didn’t go anymore awry! Rich was in constant contact within that last month, and he was very fast to answer any questions I had. Paying was super easy as well!

In addition to having an in-depth conversation with the host prior to the event, I check in with the hosts throughout the event and make sure that things are going according to their vision. It is the HOST’S EVENT after all, and I want it to be memorable.

I am an outgoing, people-person. I can strike up a conversation with anyone, whether we are waiting in line somewhere or in the elevator together. I am the opposite of shy, but at the same time I maintain a professional demeanor. I am also very flexible and can show different parts of my personality depending on the needs of each event.

My role as a Complete Music DJ is reminiscent of my previous employment with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a member of the Cruise Director’s Staff. I was trained by some of the best Cruise Directors in the business and have learned a number of tricks that get people out to the dance floor. Complete Music is an established company that provides me resources that allow me to be successful and continue to develop my skills. I love learning new ideas from my fellow DJs.

How do you insure that the hosts are enjoying the event?
I check in with my guests of honor once or twice per hour. I make sure everything is going according to their liking, letting them know what is coming up on the timeline for the event, and that they are having a great time along with everyone else. If we need to change anything, we do it at that point so everyone knows the plan and there are no awkward pauses to your event.
How would you describe your personality?
In one word, accomidating. One pet peeve I have with some other DJs I have seen is that they feel like it is their event and there is only one right way to do things, the way they recommend. I always tell people that I like to go into any event with a plan. That way we can easily stray from, or change the plan, instead of just winging it. If you would like guidance, or my opinion on how to proceed, I will let you know at least two options on how we can do it, so you are always in control.The only way of doing things, is YOUR WAY!

I love the performance aspect of DJing. Every night is a show, with new people to entertain. It could be a wedding, anniversary, school dance, sweet 16 party, anything, and no two shows are the same. The desire to have everyone remember the entire event being a success drives me in every decision I make.

Believe it or not, I love the pressure. I like the idea of knowing I have to have the song cued up perfectly for a certain situation, or play a certain song, at a certain time, and introduce it a certain way, to have it make the desired outcome the guests of honor want, and I have only one opportunity to get it right; it is so rewarding when I do. It is especially gratifying when people come up to me and they say I saw you do so-and-sowedding, you were awesome!

I really, honestly, care. For some DJs, DJing is a side-job, just a way to make extra cash. Yours is just another wedding, another party, another paycheck, another Saturday away from the house. I love being a DJ, everything about it. I really enjoy playing that one song you forgot you loved, playing the one top-40 song Grandma will dance to, seeing an overflowing dancefloor when Shout! comes on, and when people clap during my high-energy introductions of the wedding party.
