How do you ensure that the hosts are enjoying the event?
In addition to having an in-depth conversation with the host prior to the event, I check in with the hosts throughout the event and make sure that things are going according to their vision. It is the HOST’S EVENT after all, and I want it to be memorable.
How would you describe your personality?
I am an outgoing, people-person. I can strike up a conversation with anyone, whether we are waiting in line somewhere or in the elevator together. I am the opposite of shy, but at the same time I maintain a professional demeanor. I am also very flexible and can show different parts of my personality depending on the needs of each event.
Why do you enjoy working at Complete Music?
My role as a Complete Music DJ is reminiscent of my previous employment with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a member of the Cruise Director’s Staff. I was trained by some of the best Cruise Directors in the business and have learned a number of tricks that get people out to the dance floor. Complete Music is an established company that provides me resources that allow me to be successful and continue to develop my skills. I love learning new ideas from my fellow DJs.
Why do you enjoy performing at weddings?
It allows me the opportunity to be a part of a bride and groom’s most special day. This is the happiest day of their lives. For a few hours, I am welcomed into my client’s world. I enjoy ensuring the event is the best it can be. I love seeing the bride and groom’s smiles as they come out to the dance floor and see their guests enjoying the party.
What makes you a unique DJ?
I am a chameleon, I am able to read the crowd and adjust to the unique needs of each event. I am also motivated to ensure that the client’s event is truly His or Hers. Things will go according to plan and I will coordinate with the venue to ensure this happens. Being a female provides a certain understanding that sets me apart. If ice-breakers are requested, I will be out on the dance floor leading them. By doing such dances as the Cupid shuffle, Electric slide and Cha cha slide with the guests, I encourage those that may not feel confident enough in their knowledge of the dances.
