Our team at Complete Weddings + Events is headed to Custer State Park often, and this specific rainy May day was all about Hannah and Tyler!
Game Lodge | Custer State Park Wedding
Hannah and Tyler were married on the “Lovers’ Leap Deck” outside at the State Game Lodge in Custer State Park at 3:30pm on May 18th. The two tied the knot on the redwood deck set in front of Coolidge Creek and a small area of trees bare from the winter, and the wedding was officiated by their grandma; could that be any more special?!
After the ceremony, the party moved to the State Game Lodge pavilion. The pavilion is amazing for in indoor-outdoor reception, as you are covered from any weather with a wood roof, but all seats have view to the great outdoors with pine trees galore! Another great perk to the pavilion is the heat lamps to keep everyone warm, even on a cool spring or chill fall day.
Rainy May Day
There’s no denying, spring time in South Dakota may produce rain, and Hannah and Tyler took advantage with adorable matching umbrellas and ponchos labeled “bride” and “groom”. You’ll also notice Hannah and her bridesmaids wore pashmina shawls on this chilly day, Hannah’s in blue and the bridesmaid’s in white, oppositely colored than their dresses to tie everything together. This wedding party was prepared for all the elements, and these little details made their day uniquely special!
Succulent Bouquet
The bouquets of the day were perfect for a spring wedding! Succulents have been an increasingly popular addition to wedding day florals, and Hannah and her bridesmaids each had multiple in their bouquet mixed with pale blush roses, a bit of baby’s breath, and additional greenery for an awesome bundle.
