Amanda + Dugan’s midwest meets nautical wedding was perfect for a warm, summer celebration! The August wedding ceremony and reception were both held in Spearfish, South Dakota, a city in the northern Black Hills near the South Dakota and Wyoming border.
Where the Midwest Meets Nautical
This wedding gives off the perfect midwest meets nautical vibes, with baby blue suits, bright lush greenery, and scenes of beverages by the water! One of our favorite scenes of the day was captured by Grant, the Complete Weddings + Events photographer, of the wedding party crowding onto a boat dock along the water.
Refreshing Bridal Party Style
The bride wore a long sleeve lace dress, and her wavy hair was pulled back into a low, effortless ponytail giving her a summery casual look. The open low back of her textured wedding dress also was perfect for this summer South Dakota day!
The slightly different styles on each bridesmaid complimented the day’s laid-back, summertime vibe. Each bridesmaid wore chromatic shades of dusty green, floor length skirts with cream and lace tops, from off-the-shoulder to sleeveless styles.
If you haven’t looked into floral ties yet, what are you waiting for? The groom and groomsmen wore matching floral printed ties in in white with blue florals and greenery, which added a pop of texture to their blue and white suits. It was a refreshing summer wedding look, different than the typical gray, navy or black.
