Wedding Prices Going Up in Orlando: How Can You Save Money?

5.5.22

It’s no secret that pricing for most things are going up. You feel it when you head to the grocery store, fill up your tank, or shop for clothes. However, couples planning their wedding day are very much feeling the inflation hit them when planning their wedding. Not only is everyone tightening their belts a bit in response to the inflation but you may be attempting to pay for a wedding at the same time! Here are a few tips on how to save some money without sacrificing your dream wedding in this blog.

Get Creative With Invitations

One item that brings the cost way up can be the wedding invitations. The invitations themselves can add a huge cost to the wedding. This cost is oftentimes larger than what most people anticipate, so if you’re able to get creative you’ll save yourself a large amount that you can later put towards your actual wedding.

A more modern way to do invites would be to send out short letters that ask people to visit your wedding website for information and to RSVP. This will cut down on inserts and allow you to get creative with your wedding website instead of your invites which are much less expensive. You could also simply be mindful of this expense and shop around to get great prices.

One reason couples end up spending a lot here is that they underestimate the cost. We’re constantly surprised how many couples will search endlessly to send a few hundred dollars to their photographer or wedding venue but don’t think to do the same with invites. Make sure you’re being mindful with invites at the very least.

Look for Off-Days for Wedding Vendors

Wedding vendors are always willing to be much more flexible on their pricing if they aren’t overly busy on your wedding date. If you’re looking at a Saturday in the Fall, chances are that you are going to be paying full price for everything. However, if you want to save some money it’s always a good idea to consider Summer weddings (that is Orlando’s off-season) or even consider a weekday wedding.

Many couples are surprised by how well weekday weddings work for them and how many guests RSVP and show up. Very rarely will we see weekday weddings feel different than weddings during the weekend. We always suggest looking at weekday weddings to save some money so you aren’t sacrificing the quality of your vendors at your wedding.

Bundling Services

We’re obviously going to highly suggest bundling services together as we provide multiple services. However, it really does make a huge difference, not only in the total price of each service but it also allows the planning process and day of the wedding to go smoother. We provide many different styles of photography depending on who you’d like to shoot pictures on your wedding day so choices are still not limited. This way you’re able to save plenty of money and allow us to take care of many of the details that could cause you stress during the planning process.

One Location

Most weddings now are at one location for both the ceremony and reception but it’s still worth advising you to keep your ceremony and reception in the same place because this can save you tons of time and money. Not having to worry about booking multiple venues on the same day as well as eliminating the need to travel between your ceremony and reception location is a huge stress relief before and during the wedding day.

Most venues in Orlando offer amazing ceremony and reception locations including Venue 1902, Tuscawilla Country Club, and The Grand Ol’ Barn to name just a few. You’ll be able to get married in a beautiful outdoor area then turn right around and have your reception in the same location while both areas at the same place look and feel so different but it will cost less and be much more convenient.

Utilize Your Resources

We want to be extremely clear that utilizing your resources doesn’t mean hiring your cousin as the cake decorator or your friend as the photographer because they’ve done it once or twice, that can end very badly. However, if you have people around you who are creative enough to help you with décor, setup, or tear down that will help you save on small things that add up.

However, you either want these things to require a low skill level so that your friend or family member can’t mess it up or you’ll want this to be something you can look at and approve prior to the wedding beginning like décor. We definitely think it’s worth using friends and family but be smart about what you use them for.
