Alonzo “Lonzo” Williams is known worldwide as the Godfather of West Coast hip-hop, with over 30 years experience in the entertainment field. His musical legacy includes discovering Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and Michel’le, along with influencing every act that came out of Compton. Lonzo’s love for DJing began when he watched radio DJs play at local parks as a teen, inspiring him to attend broadcast school and become a DJ. After graduation, Lonzo took the streets under the name “Disco Lonzo,” where he rocked crowds with the disco sounds of the ’70s. Soon, with his popularity growing, he opened one of Los Angeles’ first teen clubs, Eve After Dark, where had a residency for 6 years. After outgrowing The Eve, he moved his operation around the corner to Dootone’s Music Center in Compton, which was featured in Straight Outta Compton.
Lonzo’s DJ career includes hundreds of events and six clubs, including The Hollywood Park Casino and Skateland. Lonzo’s musical selection spans from the days of Motown to today’s hottest party music. No matter what, you can trust it’s going to be a party to remember.
