Kimberly Vorhees, Sales & Event Manager
Years in Industry or Previous Work Experience: 9 years of experience in event planning, including corporate events and weddings (weddings are her forte!)
Favorite Sports Team: The Iowa Hawkeyes
Hobbies/Activities: Kim enjoys hiking, reading fantasy books, and watching tv shows
Favorite Local Spot: Francie’s Bar & Grill (their French dip sandwich is the best in town!)
Memorable Moment in the Wedding Industry: Planning multiple friends’ weddings alongside them!
Fun Fact or Hidden Talent: staying calm in hectic situations, finding solutions to “little fires” as they pop up. 🙂
Sue Bennett, Owner & General Manager
Years in Industry or Previous Work Experience: 15 years experience in the event industry including several years in venue management as well as large scale event catering. Sue moved to Des Moines to buy the Complete Weddings + Events business in April 2019 and has loved the transition to managing a team of wedding and event professionals and providing couples with quality services and creating memorable experiences for them on their special day!
Favorite Sports Team: Nebraska Football and Volleyball! She’s still a Nebraska Girl at Heart <3
Hobbies/Activities: Sue enjoys dining or grilling out, happy hour with friends, and quiet nights at home with a good movie or around the fire-pit with close friends and neighbors.
Favorite Local Spot: Music bingo on Thursday nights at GoodSons in Beaverdale.
Memorable Moment in the Wedding Industry: Buying and growing her Complete Weddings + Events business in Des Moines.
Gus, the office dog
Breed: Gus is a Mini Australian Sheppard
Years in Industry: Gus has been coming to the office with Sue since 2020. He’s 8 years old and loves the hustle and bustle around the office, particularly on Saturdays when the staff are coming in to pick up their equipment for their events.
Favorite Things: Gus loves greeting the mailman who is always willing to stop for a pat or a belly rub, even if he doesn’t have mail to deliver. The Amazon delivery driver seems to make frequent stops at the office as well, and knows Gus by name. He’s also frequently here to meet the couples when they come in to speak with Kim or Sue about their events at our monthly happy hour and loves to eat the crumbs that may accidentally drop on the floor!
Hobbies/Activities: Gus enjoys napping in his favorite chair or resting on the mat by the front door of the office so he doesn’t miss anyone who may be passing by on their way to 515 Brewing, Clive Power Equipment or Mayhem Comics next door. He also loves walks and visiting the neighbors across the street who always have a treat for him and sometimes watch him when Sue is away.
