DJ Jon’s last name is Hart, but in Spanish, his name is “Juan Corazon,” so he prefers that. Born & raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, DJ Jon is a die hard Detroit Lions fan. His music taste can be described as “eclectic,” or “all over the place,” but he knows how to get the party started and how to keep it going. As a kid, his sister would rack up their dad’s credit cards with Columbia House and BMG music subscriptions and pass all the “leftover” CDs to him. She missed out on some bangers. Although it cost their dad a lifetime of debt, a music lover was born. He likes everything from 80’s synth pop to Rat Pack, from yacht rock to metal, Latin cumbias to Frank Ocean, reggae to jazz, and everything in between, which is validated by his uniquely curated personal vinyl collection. DJ Jon is passionate about making your day full of fun! You will not be disappointed with his emcee skills, music choices, or overall vibe. A veteran of the sports and music scenes both in his home state of Iowa and as a Vegas local since 2005, Justin was top of his class at the industry-trusted pipeline-to-radio, CSB school of broadcasting in 2008. He then joined the team at Clear Channel (now iHeartRadio) and spent the next four years producing live on-air content, running promotions and talking on the radio himself while building relationship with the stations listeners. He returned to Pella, Iowa and spent two years as both on-air news editor during the day and sports play-by-play for high-school and college sports for KNIA/KRLS at night and on the weekends. Once again, he returned to iHeart Radio in Las Vegas in 2014 before being recruited to join the team at Lotus broadcasting (ESPN Vegas) as a digital and on-air producer while also producing live local talk radio for Kevin Wall and Wayne Allen Root on the local Fox News station. In 2017, Justin returned to Iowa to be closer to family and spent the next five years covering local sports, entertainment and politics as a writer for the Fairfield Ledger and Cedar Rapids Gazette while also making weekly appearance on KGYM (ESPN Cedar Rapids) where he was affectionately nicknamed the Swiss Army Knife of the Gazette’s award-winning staff.
Happily, in 2022 he returned to Sin City, where he fell into a natural role as both host and track announcer for Speed Vegas, once again using his natural ability to relate and communicate with others to ensure a smooth operation with 300+ tourists in 100+ degree weather.
