Why did you decide to become a photographer/videographer?

Growing up, I always had a love for film and video. Part of that comes from my dad working in the lighting department in commercials and movies, and other comes from making short videos at home with the families camera, using my friend and family, or even my toys as actors. Telling stories though video has been a life long passion of mine, and it’s has stuck with me in my adult life.

What is your favorite thing about being a photographer/videographer?

While getting to play around with the gear and getting great shots is fun, I always love seeing how excited and happy the clients are when they see the complete video, or even a teaser from it. The way they light up always leaves me with a good feeling and a sense of accomplishment.

What is a favorite memory from an event you’ve shot?

I remember I was shooting a wedding and we were getting photos and video of the groom over by nearby train tracks. We set up for a shot and just as we start rolling, a train came down the tracks behind him. When I showed the groom the shot, he got very excited. It looked great and was an awesome in the moment thing that made a good shot even better.

What is your favorite part of a wedding night?

There’s a lot of great ones to choose from, the first look is always something that’s great to see. You can really feel the love between the couple in that moment. I also love when the dancing and games start, it’s always a fun part of the night.

What is one fun/unique fact about you?

When I was in college, a friend of mine got together to co-direct a play that he wrote. When we were both finished with school, we got back together and adapted the play into a feature length film. We filmed it over the summer of 2019 and I edited the whole thing over the next few years. This was one of my most rewarding and exciting adventures I have ever been a part of.
