    • What do you think couples need most on their wedding day?   “A reminder to soak in every little moment of the day.”
    • What part of the wedding day do you love managing the most?  “All the little meaningful details. I love seeing and learning about the different family traditions and heirlooms passed down from generations.”
    • How do you help couples feel calm on their wedding day?  “Lots of reassurance. This is their day, it can’t happen without them. And I’ve got everything handled.”
    • What’s your superpower as a coordinator?  “Prior to the wedding day, I have a Supercomputer brain. I can coordinate multiple projects, keep track of deadlines, and juggle seventeen tasks while everyone is still trying to locate their keys. I feel like I’m Flash on wedding day. I’m super fast and everywhere you look. I never stop moving and constantly making sure guests and vendors are all taken care of for a seamless event.”
    • Are you a gentle guide or a take-charge leader—or a mix of both?  “I would say I’m a mixture of both. I will do everything in my power to make sure what the couple wants the couple gets, but I won’t hesitate to give alternative suggestions. If I see things that aren’t getting done, I will give a little push notification to remind you that things need done.”
    • What’s your favorite way to celebrate after a successful wedding?  “Once the music starts for the reception, that usually means it’s about the time where I am no longer needed and all the formalities have been completed on my end and I can’t help but to start dancing and singing with the guests.”
    • What moment makes you feel like, “Yes, this is why I do this”?  “I love love. I want everyone’s day to be as special as my day was. I try to exceed my own expectations and experiences.”
    • Timeline queen or problem-solving ninja?  “Both. Moreso, probably a problem-solving ninja. Timelines are great to keep everything and everyone on track, but hiccups happen and you need to “PIVOT” as Ross would say. The challenge is always worth it in the end.”
    • Anything you want couples to know/ what kind of experience you have? Education, home/childhood life, etc./ hobbies, family, special interests   “My name is Katie Barker also known as the “Chaos Coordinator.” I was born and raised in Southern California, lived in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and now Iowa for the last 3yrs. My husband and I come from a sports background. I have a degree in Sports and Entertainment Marketing. I’ve worked in the NFL, ECHL, and Education. I’ve coordinated 150+ hockey events, corporate events, weddings, birthdays, as well as being a teacher. I thrive in fast-paced environments. I have a very bubbly personality and love meeting new people. I love to travel. Oh and my husband and I have a son named Deklan. I canNOT wait to hear about your story. 😀”

    Andy was amazing as well!! Music is super important to me and Andy did an awesome job making sure the right songs were playing at the right times. He did a great job balancing being a emcee as well as ensuring everything ran smoothly. We all had the BEST time on the dance floor, huge thank you to Andy!! Also - he mastered playing a great mix of Brazilian/Latino music!
