Wedding Website FAQs

8.30.21

Including a wedding FAQs page on your website can be a very useful tool for your guests. After you start receiving RSVP’s, your guests are likely to have questions about your wedding. Instead of having to answer countless phone calls or texts, try making a frequently asked questions page on your wedding website. By doing so, you can share all the details with your loved ones in one convenient area. You can include details of the ceremony, dress code, menu, parking and more. Trust us, your guests will thank you.

Ceremony FAQs

  1. Where is the ceremony?
  2. What is the best way to get there?
  3. Where should I park?
  4. How early should I arrive?
  5. Will the ceremony be indoors or outdoors?
  6. What happens after the ceremony?

Remember, not every guest is skilled with Google maps. Including general directions on how to get to your venue is important. This is especially true if it is a rural area or a hard-to-find downtown location. Let them know if the parking is free and if there is a parking lot or street parking. If your guests need to bring quarters to feed meters, cash, or card they need to know. Most people don’t go to events with a bunch of quarters in their pockets.

This is a great way to include if your guests have a cocktail hour to attend or need to move to a different location for the reception. This way crowd control is easier since they already understand what is happening.

Setting boundaries about how early your guest should arrive is important so you can try to eliminate the super early birds. You want your guests to arrive when the venue is fully decorated and ready to go so they receive that wow factor.

Be sure to include if the ceremony is indoors or outdoors so your guests can dress appropriately and bring sunscreen if needed. Small children or elderly guests might need special arrangements if it is hot and sunny out.

Reception FAQs

  1. Is the reception in a different location?
  2. Is there a seating chart?
  3. Will there be food or drink served?
  4. Can I take photos and post them on social media?
  5. When will the reception end?
  6. Will there be transportation provided and can I leave my car overnight?

If your reception is in a different location than the reception, let your guests know about directions, travel time, and the time the reception or cocktail hour will begin. This will ensure your guests aren’t late to the reception, and they understand their assignment.

Provide a menu for your guests, or at least let them know if you are offering special diet menu items such as gluten-free or vegan. If you aren’t, then you might have guests that need to make special arrangements or bring in their own food.

Let them know if you will be serving alcohol and if you are having a cash bar. That way your guests come prepared and can arrange for transportation if you aren’t providing any. If your venue allows for guests to leave their cars overnight, then be sure to let them know. You always want your guests to arrive safely to their destination after a night of fun.

Establish social media boundaries from the beginning if you want to be the first to post your photos. If you have a wedding hashtag, this is also a great way to inform your guests!

Miscellaneous FAQs

  1. Are kids allowed?
  2. Can I bring a date?
  3. What is the weather like this time of year?
  4. Are the venues wheelchair accessible?
  5. Is here a hotel block for guests?
  6. When do I need to RSVP by?
  7. Where are you registered?
  8. I still have questions; how should I contact you?

Include a miscellaneous section for things like if children or a plus one is allowed. Also giving your guests a deadline for their RSVP’s is a must. That way they can let you know if they are going to make it in a timely manner.

Your guests also may need to make travel arrangements right away, so include if you a blocking hotel rooms for your wedding weekend. Informing your out-of-town guests of the weather in your city that time of year is also very helpful so they can pack accordingly.

You can link your registry for your wedding in this section too, and how your guests can contact you if they have other questions that were not answered. Feel free to customize your FAQs list to your needs. Any information you share with them will always be helpful!
