Weekends at Iowa State tailgates became their cherished ritual, with Mara cheering on Thomas at his marathons, creating a bond that only strengthened with time. December 2022 marked a pivotal moment when Thomas proposed, making official what their hearts already knew—they were each other’s eternal travel companions. Complete Weddings + Events photographer Megan had the opportunity to capture their engagement photos in downtown Des Moines. This photo session allowed the couple to connect with their photographer well before the big day.
The Attire
As Mara prepared for her big day, the elegance she exuded was matched only by the thoughtfully chosen attire of her bridesmaids and groomsmen. Mara, in a long-sleeved V-neckline dress and half-curled hair, radiated grace. Her bridesmaids donned mismatched long dresses in a delightful array of pinks, brown, and orange, while Thomas and his groomsmen added a touch of classic charm in navy suits and brown shoes.
